Poem - Red Flower

A red flower in a white garden,

Is something rare and beautiful to find.

It stands out and draws attention,

And feeds curiosity to your mind.

You take a peek at natures mystery,

To study what's found on ground.

It's seems just miraculous and gorgeous,

With red and pink petals round.

You take the pretty home with you,

In a vase for all to see.

It's nature's miraculous illusion,

Because now it's growing quickly.

A few days pass- the flower has grown,

You admire it's perfection.

It's always on your mind to see what has changed,

And you stare with eyes of affection.

Red and pink are slowly fading,

And you wonder what to do.

New water won't help nor will light,

You mourn- if only you knew.

The beauty is gone, left nothing behind,

And you wish you'd have time to spare.

But time is priceless and so is that flower,

At least there's the memory to share.
