Chapter 7
JUSTIN’S POV: I walked in the door with Elizabeth behind me. I could tell she was nervous by her scared expression. Clearly, she knew me too well, and knew I didn’t tell my mom about getting her pregnant, and about her living here now. “Hey Justin… and who’s this? Aren’t you that girl from earlier before?” My mother asked. She nodded her head shyly and looked at me. “Mom, I have to tell you something, well, we do.” I said. “Oh no, Justin… what did you do?” “Nothing m-” “Nothing?” Elizabeth asked. “Okay, well, it’s not nothing, but it’s just a small something.” “Small?” she asked again. “Okay big-” “Just tell me what it is,” my mother said impatiently. “Umm.. mom.. I kind of… sort of… got Elizabeth here… pregnant.” I said. I tried to add an innocent smile, but that didn’t work. My mom couldn’t pick an emotion, but I’m glad she went with disappointment, but not angry. “Why Justin?” she asked. “I had to sleep with her to be cool and I guess she wasn’t aware of it and wasn’t protected.” I said. “Again with blaming me! Yes, it’s all my fault, because I should’ve been prepared to be tricked into sleeping with someone after years of being ignored by every guy that’s ever looked at me.” Elizabeth yelled. I guess letting her live here didn’t make her less angry at me. “Justin… why would you even think about doing that? And then blame it on her?” “I was stupid okay? But just one last thing, can she live here?” “I don’t know Justin. How can I trust you with a girl here again?” “But mom, her mom kicked her out of her house when she found out. She’d be homeless if we don’t let her stay.” “Oh… well in that case she can, for as long as she wants. It’ll be nice having you join the family Elizabeth.” My mom said, and looked over at her with a smile. Elizabeth smiled back, but glared at me. “Justin, go show her the guest room, and I need to talk to you afterwards.” “Okay mom,” I replied, and led Elizabeth upstairs. "Here’s you’re room I said, and threw her bags in. “Thanks,” she said, her voice hard angry. She sat down on the bed, and when I closed the door, I could hear her sobbing, I felt the guilt come back, I wouldn’t be sleeping tonight. Downstairs, my mom was waiting for me. “Justin, why did this happen to you? Why would you even think it was okay to do that to someone, and then blame the whole thing on her?” She said. “I don’t know, okay? I was stupid and I shouldn’t have listened to my friends.” “But you did.” “But now I’m cool mom. Everywhere I go guys are telling me things like ‘nice job’ and ‘wish I was you’ and all the girls smile and wave at me. I love it.” “But was it worth ruining someone’s reputation, not to mention, their life. And yours too when people find out.” My face paled. I didn’t think about all of the bad things that would happen to me. “Look, I’m sorry okay. Goodnight.” I walked away before she could respond...................................
