More Than I Should-Chapter 5

ZAYN’S POV:

It takes almost 30 minutes for Zayn to reach their home. He feels so exhausted with all the things happened at his new school, but for some reason he found the academy quiet interesting, the facilities are good, foods in the canteen are really good also, the students are cool, not that he meet and made friends already, it’s just, it seems they are better than the students in his old school, and… the teachers are pretty interesting, especially Mr. Louis Tomlinson, how can he forget him, he just experience today one of his most embarrassing moment in his life with him.. But he can’t deny that he’s cool. Too young for a teacher, and he can’t deny that he’s a pretty lad, he don’t know but there’s something with him that he felt they had already a ‘bond’. Anyway, he’ll find more about him in the next school days; he’ll find more about what the academy can offer him.

As expected he’s alone when he arrived, his Mom is not at home and who knows when she will come back from the hospital she’s working at, especially when there was no particular shifts given to her, meaning she’s always on call. Apparently he feels hungry so he went to the kitchen to find a decent food but failed when he opens the fridge and found out that it’s empty… “arghhh… Mom!!!” he sighed. He has no choice but to go to market and buy a grocery for him and his Mom.

He doesn’t mind buying for their stocks, in fact he enjoyed doing the job and since his Mom can’t do it he’ll take the responsibility just for now. He checked his wallet first before going out and head to the nearest grocery store.

Cereal, juice, mallows, more mallows, mallows… and more mallows. What!? Don’t you dare judge me, they are my favourites, they tastes like heaven….hmmm come to think of it he still have a lot of stocks at home but yeah, he shrugs who knows when will he run out of mallows so better buy now. He grabs all the remaining items he must buy. He’s about to head to the counter to pay for all the items in his basket when someone called his name.

“Zayn!, hey Zayn” comes with an excited voice behind him.

He turns around to find out who called him and recognized who it was. Oh shit! Trouble’ he thought. Why of all people on earth? Ah…. I thought I will never meet her again now that I transferred. Nah… he was wrong.

“Ah… hi, what a co-incidence”

He smacked my arm playfully. “oh don’t be silly lover boy, it’s a small town and we both know that I live here also, so how’s life? I mean how your new school is?” she said nonchalantly, giving him a seductive smile. Oh Jesus please, I sense trouble, let me out of here please.

“uh…yeah, I’m fine, the academy was cool, people are cool, how about you Lou? How’s life?” he asked.

“hmmm…nothings new, but school gets boring, you know when you leave us, when you leave me, we miss you Zayn, I miss you a lot” she puppy eyed me and now clinging her hands to my right arm, ahhh… girls he thought not that he mind, for Pete’s sakes they are in a very public place, no doubt nothing’s new, she never changed, typical Lou Teasdale, his ex-girlfriend, but their relationship were not that serious, he’s never been in a serious relationship, it’s just a play, yeah maybe a little bit cruel but that’s what their relationship for him, but of course just like every girl passed in his hands Lou takes it seriously and after their break up she never get over with it. As a consolation he accepts her offer to be friends with him, but the problem was, she never acted as a friend, she’s too clingy and so stubborn to handle. But he never treated her wrong, God knows how he respects all girls from his past, maybe it’s just a game for him but treating girls bad is not in his vocabulary.

“ahhh, I see, I miss you too” he said walking to the counter, “ah…Lou, look I really have to go now, I’m  so hungry and I have to cook for myself coz’ my Mom wasn’t home” oh… shit. Mistake Zayn, mistake.

“You’re alone? Hmmm…how about I’ll come with you and cook some food for you to eat? Then we’ll have some bonding, maybe watch tv and I’ll go home after?” he ask or very much appropriate to say ‘pleading’. Hmmm… he thinks for a while, not bad idea. After all he was tired and he knows that Lou was good cook.

“hmmm. Okay cool, just watch tv oakay? No other business… comes on”

(Zayn’s house)

“So what’s the menu Ms. Teasdale?” he teases.

“hmmm… how about I’ll make a pizza? Since I think judging from the sound of your stomach you can no longer last for another hour?” she laughs.

“Don’t laugh at me, my first day was so exhausting, the academy was so big and to be honest I’m so tired right now”

“Okay, oaky, I get it, you can wait me at the living room, I can manage this”

“Promise?”

“Yeah, so shoo” she push me out of the door.

After 30 minutes Lou appeared at their living room, holding a plate of yummy pizza, yeah he can tell even if he only smells it.

“Dinner is ready lover boy!” she announces.

“Aw… you don’t get tired of that nickname do you?”

“No.” she said in a plain tone.

“hmmm… okay, anyway thanks for this” he bites from his pizza “its sooo good, your really are a good cook, wish Mom can be as good as you”  he said praising the food his munching right now.

“It’s my pleasure Zayn, for old times’ sake” he admit that Lou was flirt and too stubborn sometimes and she always annoys him but she’s too sweet to hate. But he’s sure that no matter what they shared from the past will never happens again. Past is past.

After finishing their food Zayn asked her if what the movie she wants to watch, she suggested a horror movie but he’s not a fan of it so they just settled to watch the “Dark Knight Rises”, the movie where Anne Hathaway was in. He likes the movie because Anne really fit the character; she’s just a good actor he can’t deny that.

 In the middle of the movie he felt a hand brushing his hair, he didn’t react from what Lou’s doing, when they are still in a relationship she loves to play his hair so he just continue watching the movie. But when her hands reach his neck and in to his chest, Zayn reacted.

“Lou no touching” he removed her hand.

“Come on Zayn, I missed you a lot” she gave her most convincing puppy eyes but he knows better than to agree on what she wants to happen.

“Please…” he pleaded and eyed her seriously. “I’m serious, I don’t want to” he added.

Lou seems to get that his serious and anger was present to her face but she did not show it, he can sense that she tries to control herself from acting fool; she knows when Zayn says no it’s a No.

“Okay, I’m leaving now!” she said and get up from the couch, ready to live.

“I’ll walk you home” he offers.

“Do what you want” now it’s obvious that she lost her coolness. He just shrugs and follows her walking out from their house.
