Recollection

Who Am I?

I slightly opened my eyes and saw a stranger carrying me in his arms and putting me on the Emergency bed. I feel so dizzy. My vision is getting blurry. I felt being rushed to the Emergency Room.

"Hurry! My friend is dying here!" -???

Friend? Huh.Weird, his voice doesn't sound familiar.

"We're on it sir, please wait outside." -Doctor

I'm gonna.......

"Oh no! We have to -" -Nurse

"You left me for what?! GOD DAMN YOU! I WISH I NEVER LOVED YOU!"-???

Those words. I don't remember anything. Who am I? Who said that? I can't remember anything.

Maybe it's better for me to forget everything huh? But, how am I suppose to know who I was before?

"My poor baby *cries* please wake up. Mommy is here. *sobs*" -???

"Don't worry dear. She'll wake up soon. I know she will." -???

I can hear people. But my body won't seem to wake up. I want to cry. Why can't I remember anything?

"Dear! Look." -???

"Her eyes are tearing. Doc! Nurse! Please come and see this!" -???

I... I can't hear now. And I still can't move. Are they my parents? Maybe. I don't know. Let me wake up soon. Please.

(4 Months passed)

I was gaining my strength again. I can feel my body. I can move. Maybe now I can open my eyes.

As I slowly opened my eyes. I saw a bright light above. Too bright for me. I looked around and saw two unfamiliar people sleeping beside my bed. I held my own hand. Surprise to see them by my side.

I feel scared.

I don't know them. I don't recognize them.

Then my head began to hurt, as if a hammer is hitting my head so hard. I began screaming in pain as the hurtful pounding of my head continues along with my racing heartbeat, knocking against its cage.

My gaze fell on the people taking their rest, still screaming my heart out, causing them to jolt out of their seats. Calming down a bit, I stopped screaming and stared at them.

"Oh my god. She's awake. Honey, you're finally awake." -???

The woman began to hug me, but I pushed her away as fast as a cheetah. Surprised expression was written all over her face.

"Wh-Who are you?" -Me

I said that shakingly.

The two exchanged glances and the woman went out crying. The man approached me.

"You don't remember?" -???

"I don't.... I-I don't recognize you. B-But wait. Who-Who am I?" -Me

The man was so surprised but his expression slowly changed to a sad one. I can sense his sadness. Why am I beginning to feel sad? Who is he? Who was that woman? Who... Who am I?

"I apologize. It may seem that, due to the damage taken by her brain. She has lost her memories." -Doctor

The woman had a big frown on her face. The man had one too.

"I... I just can't believe it doc. She... She can't recall anything not even her parents." -???

Parents? They're my parents? I didn't know. I felt a sting of pain on my legs. And quinched. But, I had to be strong.

"D-Doc..." -Me

"Yes?" -Doc

I bit my lip on what I was suppose to ask but, I had to try.

"Will I ever remember anything?" -Me

The man and woman looked at me with sad faces. The Doctor looked at me straight in the eyes.

"It... It depends. On your situation, I don't know if you'll remember anything yet. Now let's start with your name." -Doctor

"I... I don't know who I am." -Me

I said that while looking down as tears formed on my eyes.

"Gianelle Joelle Preston." -???

I looked at the woman. She's crying again.

"That's your name. Gianelle Joelle Preston" -???

So that's who I am. Gianelle. I smiled at that thought.

"M-May I... know the name of my... Parents?" -Me

I stared at them intently, and gave them a small smile. I will know myself bit by bit. I will remember myself soon. I'll know why I was put here in the hospital. I'll know...
