A Surprising Summer

"ATHENA!" a manly voice shouted behind me and i was engulfed in a hug from my best friend since we were minors.

"AXEL!" i shouted back but not as loud as he did then hugged him back.

"Can you believe it? we are graduating... Reality check, we will be in college soon" No Axel... I really can't believe it.

We walked down the overloaded hallway and many girls and jocks said their greetings to of course their Quarter Back who was also their Prom King, Axel. While me? They gave me the hard shoulder like i didn't even exist.

"I hate how the girls are giving me death glares... You know i hate the attention" I mentioned to Axel.

"Oh hush! They're just jealous not only because you're so fucking hot -" before he could finish i interrupted "No swearing Axel!" i hissed.

"Sorry Ena, fudging is what i meant. Anyways back to my point, they are just jealous of your perfectness and smartness plus you are best friends with the hottest guy on campus" Axel exclaimed which earned a slap on the back of his head from me and that lead to him whimpering then asking why for my actions,

"That slap was for your very high ego plus i am not even perfect! not compared to the girls at our school anyways" i said with so much self hatred lacing on my tongue.

Axel just gave my an eye roll then took my extremely tiny hand into his gigantic bear hands and dragged me towards the ceremonial area.

I looked at the stage, the decoration, the principal and of course the podium that i will be soon sending a speech at as i am the school's valedictorian. 

I saw students taking selfies with their friends, singular/group pictures for their parents and others just standing mindlessly waiting for the ceremony to be over already.

Axel, still holding my hand, dragged me towards his parents who were situated across to where we were standing previously.

"Athena King is that really you" Mrs. Jones said to me

"It sure is Mrs. J" i laughed at the surprised tone she held.

"You look absolutely gorgeous dear" she said which then lead to Axel whispering in my ear,

"I told you so sweetheart" at the mention of this i blushed.

After 10 or so pictures later something made me want to turn around... so i did; i turned then spotted the mysterious guy from earlier staring right at me. Why is he here? He doesn't look like a student... I was about to approach the God-like species that stood not too far from me however before i could Axel wrapped his extremely muscled arm around my hourglass body and the whispered in my ear;

"How about after this, we escape yeah? let's go to your parents and show how much they have missed" with that i obliged immediately and then gave him a hug

"And now students give a round of applause to your valedictorian; Athena King" Principal Ashmore said with a roar of claps followed for my introduction. 

I smiled and roamed my eyes through the crowed; i saw Auntie Em, Bella and Mrs. S in the back row waving frantically which made my smile grew even more.

"Hello, My name is Athena King which most of you may know and other have just heard my name for the first time this afternoon. Let's start of with the real truth; School. School is a bunch of well to put it brutally, crap." this earned me some laughter from the crowd "And most of us has probably wanted to drop out at some point of our high school life however i am here to congratulate all of you, for being strong, for being resilient and most of all, for being here right now to receive a diploma. So here we are Class of 2016, graduating together and we shall arise together. I wish you good luck with your future and i hope all off you will have the best future planned ahead of you. Thank You" Claps started to arise around the field like thunder growing during a storm and of course Axel shouted rather loudly "YESSS THATS MY BEST FRIEND"

"Thank you Athena and a contribution from Axel Jones, now we shall be handing out your diplomas in alphabetical order" The principal announced.

I found my way towards Axel and sat besides him.

Name after name were called out with a few praises were heard and after what felt like years, it's done... this is it... Here is to our future.

"That is Class of 2016! Please move your tassels to your left" which we all do so, "CONGRATULATIONS! You are all graduates!"

Cheers sounded through the atmosphere and caps were thrown in the air. The whole aura was happiness, joy and relief.

I made my way towards Auntie Em with Axel trailing behind me.

"OH MY BABY! I am so happy for you!" Auntie Em exclaimed while giving me multiple kisses and a longing hug. "You too Axel! i am proud of you too" She said while giving Axel a hug.

"Ena! up! up!" Bella instructed me to carry her in my arms which i did and then she kissed me on my cheeks. Then Bella was taken from me by Axel and i stared in awe at what was in front of me... Axel would be a very good dad.

After many best regards towards me and Axel, we went towards my car which was still unharmed and parked peacefully a block away.

"I still don't know why you won't bring this baby into school grounds" Axel said while stroking my car.

"HEY! no touchy. Plus i hate being snobby, like i don't want anyone being my friend because of my riches" i said truthfully.

We climbed into my car then Axel plugged in his phone in the Aux cord playing some Panic! At The Disco which we both sang together terribly. Oh how i hate to think a world without Axel.
