Riley's POV (Riley's house the day before thanksgiving) "Riley do you want to come to my family's Thanksgiving next week." "I would love to come." "But Riley it's all the way in Texas and I want you to bring Penelope." "I can go for sure I don't know about Penelope. We might have to break it to my parents you know if I bring her." "What if it's a mistake, a miss hap we teach her the word mommy and daddy and she can say it tomorrow." "One day, we've worked on it and all I can get is a m sound." "We can do it she's tries to say words maybe she can get these out." "We can give it a shot." "I'll go get the stroller you meet me at the door." I go to the nursery forgetting the stroller is by the door. I go into the living room finding Lucas with the stroller and Penelope. He says "Just wanted to see how long it would take you." Like he knew what I was going to say. We get to his house and we go to his room and start working with her. "Penelope say da-da" She set and look at me and giggled like I'm stupid. We continue this for a hour And Lucas looked at me an said, "Let me try." Lucas's POV I wasn't going to let her first word be daddy so I tried. "Penelope where's mama?" She points to Riley and tries to walk her way till I pull her back. "If you want mama you have to say ma-ma." She starts wining and getting the m sound out. Till, "M..ma...mama ." She starts crying and I let her go and she stumbles to Riley. "I think that's enough right know I'm hungry." "When are you not hungry Lucas?" "Never." We get down there and Riley says "I need to go to bathroom." She sits her down. Then Penny starts crying "Mammmmma." I pick her up then take to the kitchen. "What's wrong sweetie?" Mom asked taking her from me. "Mama." "She said her first word." "Yeah we're trying to get her to say dada at Thanksgiving and break to Riley's parents that she knows but I wasn't going to let her first word be daddy. Riley would be heartbroken because she's been there the whole time." "Good way to go son. Your dad did the same thing. I was mad first but I thought it was sweet." "Yeah so I was thinking maybe since her parents are going to find out we could start turning the guest bedroom into Penelope's room." "What about Riley?" "I thought she could stay in my room and we build a Bay Window in there for her." "You two in the same room I don't know." "Mom it isn't like we just jump in bed with each other and do it every time we see each other. We've only done it once maybe a couple times but, it doesn't mean we won't ever but we aren't planning on it. We never planned sleeping together in first place. Riley's POV I take off down the street to the park knowing Lucas wasn't far behind. "Your daddy loves us doesn't he?" It isn't like she going to respond. "Dada." "Yeah daddy." I see Turn to see Lucas coming our way so I just sit there. He caught a up and sits beside me. "Riley I didn't mean it as I regret having sex with you or having Penelope. Trust me when we had sex it was amazing one of those moments you'll remember forever. And I don't regret having Penelope I just meant she wasn't planned and things happen. The day you told me I was her father I became the happiest man on the planet. I love you and I love Penelope with all my heart. So let's go back to my house spend the trying to get her to say daddy and-" I cut him off. "She said it when she saw you coming our way. Penelope who is that?" She just looked at me like I'm not saying it. "Come on say it." Lucas said. We set there and she just giggled. He grabs my hand and we head back to his house when I remember I have to go pick Auggie up from Uncle Shawn's house. I can't find my metro card but I'm not walking all the way upstate to get him would take me like three days. "Lucas can I use your metro card I left mine at home." "Sure it's on my dresser." "Thank you. I have to go pick Auggie up from Shawn's. We got to go. Love you." He gives Me and Penelope a kiss. "Love you two bye." I head out and ride the subway for what seems like six years till we get there. I get a cab out to Shawn's place. Once I get there I get Auggie and thank Shawn and take off again. We get home and it's already 4:40. Moms fixing dinner just Ham Burger helper since she's already cooked the Thanksgiving dinner. While she's cooking I get out the baby food. people keep telling me to stop feeding her baby food but the thing is she has only has three teeth. I feed her those baby snacks that melt in your mouth. Anyways I open the jar and begin to feed her once she's done I get up. "Riley does she have any more teeth yet." Mom asked "No just those three but there's one pushing through." "Alright then." She comes over to me and takes Penelope out of my arms and Penelope started crying. "What's wrong pumpkin?" "Maybe it's because she wants her mother." "Well let's see about that." She sits her in the middle of the room I stand by the door and she stands by stove. We both start telling her to come to us she stands up and starts walking towards me. I pick her up. "Told you." I walk to the bathroom to gave her bath then it's 6 so I go eat what's left. By the time I'm done it's only six thirty I give Penelope to my father while I take a shower and get dressed. When I'm done it's her bedtime and I forgot the most important thing at Lucas's her blankie and her favorite pacifier it was going to be a long night. Thanksgiving Day I got no sleep last night unless you count a hour. I get up get dressed and ready then I head to her bedroom grad her thanksgiving outfit Lucas bought for her.

I walk into the living room with Penelope holding my hand. "Riley where did she get that outfit?" "I got it for her." "Okay no need for the tone." I just walk away soon people come piling through the door. Grandma,Grandpa, Uncle Josh, Uncle Eric,Aunt Morgan, Uncle Shawn, A pregnant Katy (5 months) and Maya. "So Maya has your mom found out what she's having yet." "Yeah she's having a boy and a girl." "Your going to have a sister and a brother are you excited." "Yeah but it's weird to think your daughter is one year older then my brother and sister." "Stay quiet someone could of heard you." Then my grandma came over. "I'm going to take this little one for a minute." She goes to take but Penelope has a death grip on me. "I won't tried it." "She'll be fine Riley." She pulls her off me and Penelope starts throwing a fit she gets her sitting on her hip. "MAmmmma!" She says while reaching for me I grab her pacifier on the kitchen table and put it in her mouth. "Look mommy's right there that's Riley." Then the Friars comes through the door as Amy puts her down. I open the door and Penelope's face lights up. She takes off too the door and grabs Lucas's leg. He bents down and picks her up. "Hey Riley." "Hi." "Look what I got." He pulls her blankie and pacifier. She takes the one out of her mouth and throws it at Maya. "Did you throw this at me?" She nods her head yes. "You little monkey." She starts to tickle her and she starts giggling. When she s done Penelope takes the pacifier out of Lucas's hand and puts it in her mouth. He puts her down and she climbs in Maya's lap. Lucas pulls me in a hug. "Your tired I can see it." "Yeah she only slept for an hour." "Well after this we can go home mom can take care of Penelope and me and you can snuggle up and sleep." "I would like that very much." Then he kisses me we pull away then he heads to the restroom. "Time to eat!" Mom yells everyone tries to get a seat at the table but it's the girls this year. "Sorry boys better luck next time." Maya says. I put Penelope in the high chair when she asks "Dada?" "Daddy's over there." Amy says. "Hi Penelope." Dad says. Then Lucas comes back from the bathroom. And Penelope spots him. "Dada!" Lucas sits down. "You told him." Mom whisper "Yes so deal with it." Then Amy starts to ask "What's with her calling Riley and Lucas mommy and daddy." "Yeah mom why does she do it." Mom just sits there with a blank look across her face. "Here's the thing grandma Penelope is my daughter so technically now your a Great Grandma." "Riley you just couldn't keep your mouth shut." "Get over it everyone was going to find out anyway." "Well I hope you like not having anywhere to live." "Actually for your information Lucas's family already offer to let me and Penelope live with them." "Then we want you out in two weeks tops." Soon the Friars get home and Lucas comes through the bedroom door. "So what happened after I left." I ask. "When you left everything went to hell. Your parents were ticked off so were your grandparents. Mine and your parents got into it." "I'm sorry for all of this I didn't mean for it to go this far it's just I'm tired of lying." "It's okay I would've done the same. Now give me the little monster and you get some sleep." I hand her to him and she snuggles up to his chest and he takes her to another bedroom and comes back kicking his shoes off jumping in bed with me pulling me close to him falling into a deep sleep.
