Dear Michael,

Remember the time when I called you up and I was 'crying'? because my date made me wait for an hour, and he didn't turn up. After that, without any call of apology or any explanation coming from him - I went home, a little teary eyed, and insecure.

It's sad that there are people like this. In fact, if I had an opportunity, I would've slapped him on the face. But then, I'd definitely be charged with assault.

I was glad that it was you I called and ran to. My mother tends to rub salt in my wounds, and my father - well, he'd do pretty much the same. I know I'm being vague, but a lot was going on during that time. Maybe we'll talk about it when I get the courage to.

You told me to stop crying repeatedly, and get up from my seat and leave. I was glad that you did, but I still felt sad.

Now I'm writing to you, perhaps to let you know that I'm actually writing about this incident. With a bit of change here and there. Maybe giving myself a bit more of a happy ending on that day.

Best Regards,

Nancy.

Emily looked at herself in front of the mirror, seeing if she looked presentable enough for her date. After her break-up with the abusive interior designer named Andy, she was left, insecure, and in shambles. Wanting to recover quick, she dove into dating once again.

"He wasn't even 'all that' Emily..." she told herself, as she pulled and twisted her hair into a bun.

Now that her eyes were slightly open, she did realise that Andy wasn't 'all that'. Heck, he wasn't even handsome! He was just a 'sweet talker' who talked too much, but didn't follow through his actions, drove a nice car, a has a stable career. It made her cringe that she appeared shallow to herself, as she examined the reasons why she wanted to stay with him then. However, during the relationship, he took advantage of her vulnerable state and verbally abused her during phone calls.

Wearing a long maxi skirt and a pairing it with a white shirt, made her look very bohemian. She then paired it with wooden beads, completing her look.

Swinging the sling bag around her body, she headed out of her room and looked around to see if no one was home. Much to her dismay, she found her father on the side looking at her suspiciously.

"Where are you going?" he began his interrogation.

"Out, with a friend," she responded angrily. It was annoying how she was way past the legal age, and yet, her parents were treating her as if she's stupid and naive. "Out with Chloe..."

"Which friend?"

"I said Chloe!!" she said, raising her voice, making her annoyance known.

She is in this state of mind right now, because of her parents. She blamed them for her predicament. They accused her of being a cheap whore, who threw herself at men, and that her heartbreak was all her fault. Perhaps it was, but she wouldn't run to men and have them fill the void in her heart, if her parents were doing great parenting.
