Chapter 8

Anyway here's the story!

(Liam's P.O.V.)

I looked over at Autumn and saw her on the verge of tears. I quickly went over to comfort her by rubbing small circles in her back while she cried into my chest. I looked at Niall and saw him deep in thought. He's not really good in situations like this, so right now I'm at an advantage.

Autumn looked up from my chest with red puffy eyes and said, "Can we go see her?", looking directly at Harry as she said it. All eyes were on Harry, he nodded and we all scrambled out the door. I made sure to sit by Autumn so I can keep comforting her. She didn't seem to mind which made me happy. I'm starting to think that she's warming up to me.

(Autumn's P.O.V.)

We all rode in silence to the hospital. We pulled up to the entrance and went to the front desk. Harry walked up to the receptionist and asked, "What room is Chloe Patton in?".

The Receptionist was typing things on the computer and finally said, "3rd floor, Room 350". I thanked the lady and we all headed to the elevator. When we arrived to Chloe's room, there was a girl already inside holding her hand.

"Angelina?" Liam questioned.

I'm guessing that he knew her since everyone else stood in awkward silence. The girl quickly turned around at the mention of her name. She stood up from her seat beside Chloe's bed and walked towards Liam. As she got closer, I recognized the girl from school.

"Hey Liam." She sniffled and stuffed her hands in her hoodie. "Did you hear what happened to her?" She asked us. We nodded.

"Yeah but we only know that she got into an accident." I said.

"We don't know the whole story though," Harry added. "What happened?" He looked at her intently.

"Chloe and I were at the library studying. We finished around like four and she offered to drive me home on her way to meet you guys. After she dropped me off, she was about to turn onto the road when a car hit her."

"Oh my god." I began to get teary eyed again. "Is she okay?"

"Yeah. She has a few bruises though so she'll be sore for a bit. The airbags really saved her."

A wave of relief washed over me after I heard the news. I went over to Chloe's bed and held her hand. She was asleep from the pain medicines given to her from the doctors.

"I feel this is all my fault. If it weren't for me, she wouldn't have felt the need to rush to hang out with us. I'm so sorry Chloe." I said. I felt the tears sting my eyes and a lump in my throat.

Louis and Zayn rushed to my side. They hugged me and whispered comforting things in my ear to calm me. I eventually stopped crying and told them I was fine and that they didn't need to worry about me. They gave me looks of sympathy before hugging and patting my back and walking towards the others.

After a while of everyone socializing, Liam stood from his seat and said, "Hey guys, Louis, Zayn and I are going to head back to Rossini's for a bit. Anybody else want to join?"

"I'm good. I think I'll just stay with Chloe for a bit longer. You guys go ahead." I said to Liam.

"Yeah, I think I'll stay too." Harry added while a looking at Angelina. He smiled at her and she returned the gesture.

Liam gave us a nod before saying a quick see-you-later and leaving me with Niall, Harry and Angelina.

I didn't even realize that Niall was still here. He had been over in the corner the whole time sitting quietly as if he were concentrating really hard on something. I suddenly remembered him having to tell me something earlier right before Harry rushed inside Rosinni's, giving us the news about Chloe. I silently walked over to him and sat in the seat beside him.

"Hi."

He blinked a few times and turned to look at me. "H-Hey."

I giggled. We made small talk until i finally asked him, "Hey, Niall, could I talk to you about something kind of important?"

"Yeah. Let's go out to the hallway." He nodded towards the door. We got up and went outside the room. He dug his hands into the pockets of his jacket and rocked on his heel.

"Sooo..."

"I wanted to talk to you about earlier when we were in Rossini's."

"Oh." He looked around the hallway, trying to avoid eye contact.

"What were you going to say?"

He took a deep breath and looked away.

"Well Liam and I both like you and we both had an argument over who we think you like the most..." He trailed off. I scrunched my eyebrows together in confusion and then my mouth formed an "o".

I blushed and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. Silence fulfilled the void around us before Niall spoke up, "Could I ask you something, Autumn?"

I looked up at him and nodded.

"Would you go out on a date with me?"

I smiled. "Yes Niall I would love to."
