jungkook felt a tap on his shoulder, a slightly irritated one, at that.
sigh.
he practically grimaced when he realised who it was.
"hi, yoora." he said with a clear voice.
yoora whipped her dyed, orange hair behind her shoulder and formed her lips into an obnoxious pout.
"hoseok asked soojeong out on a date. i saw it for myself."
all the emotions had been sucked out of him at that moment–except for one, and it was evident to any one who took a simple glance at his heated face.
to make matters worse, the unfortunate pair were walking side by side down the hallway when jungkook had caught them–in what he thought was red-handed.
their somewhat interesting conversation was paused as they saw jungkook's infuriating, still presence and his humourless eyes that blankly stared at them.well, him.
"you."
hoseok flinched at his direct voice, knowing exactly who the "you" he was referring to was.
"what's wrong, jung-"
"why did you ask soojeong out on a date?" he interrupted, not taking his eyes off of the poor, overwhelmed teen.
"she has a boyfriend. who happens to be me."
hoseok raised a questioning eyebrow.
"i never did that." he commented, glancing back and forth from soojeong's scared face to jungkook's.
"all I did was notice that she was lonely and pained. unlike some people." he retorted and took a step to indicate that he was ready to walk away from the conversation.
the broad figure stopped him.
jungkook's eyes were crestfallen and heart broken.
"look..." he heaved, and hoseok stepped back next to the silent soojeong.
"there are things i don't understand about soojeong, but i'm willing to make them all clear by getting to know her even more." he looked at her,
and then at him."i'm sorry, hoseok. you're a great guy." jungkook patted the boy on the shoulder as a friendly gesture, while hoseok nodded in gratitude.
jungkook shifted his head a little, his heart throbbed to look at her like that.
"i'm sorry, soojeong. i'm a sucky boyfriend." he seemed as if he was about to cry.
yet, he was warmly embraced by her milky, vanilla scent
and her smooth hair
and her adorable frame
and the reassuring, kind being that she was.
that was her act of forgiveness."and you're a great boyfriend." she huskily whispered into his ear, making him chuckle nervously.
hoseok was still there.
they let each other go.
he spun on his heels.
"never make her feel uneasy or worried again."
he grinned
and left.。。。
the next day, with soojeong and jungkook off his mind, hoseok trudged over toward yoora, in hopes of changing a few things around–after he had thought about his suspicions.
yoora was surprised when she saw him, wearing everything but his famous smile that usually lit up everyone's day."can i talk to you, yoora?" he confronted her, digging his damp hands into his pockets even though it was hot outside.
she seemed to study his face before replying.
"of course."
