I was panting hard as my short legs carried me as quickly as I could out of the horrible chamber. My mother was gone. She was gone. She was never coming back, never again. I ran out before he could catch me, running out of the basement, up the stairs, and out the back door into the woods. I ran until a small light flickered in the shadows. I headed towards it, slowly creeping so that I wouldn't make any noises. The light had been from a house, so I hurried along, clenching my hands into fists and grinding my teeth against the cold. I shivered as I knocked on the door, crossing my arms to shield myself from the icy air. I was wearing no shoes, just a hospital gown and a pair of worn socks that were too big.I could feel the heat seeping from under the door, and felt a hot wind of air rush on me as the door swung open. A woman stood in the doorway, with a fairly long brown braid of hair flowing down her back. She gasped as she stared down at my tiny body.
And my special features.
Woman's POVI gasped as I looked down to a little boy, shivering from the cold. He must have been about 3 or 4 years old. Realizing my hesitation, I quickly scooped him up and slammed the door shut, placing him near the fireplace as his body shuddered from the cold. Fear was glazed in his eyes at the fire, but the warmth seemed to spread through his body as he curled into a ball on his side, closing his eyes.
I hurried up the stairs of the small home I had recently started living in, as a widow of course. I still kept my husbands old clothes, and grabbed a white shirt with long sleeves and buttons and went back downstairs.
He was still curled up, laying in front of the fire. I tapped his shoulder, causing him to rise and lift his arms. I pulled the gown off and slipped the shirt on over his head carefully. I grabbed a blanket from the couch and wrapped it around him tightly as he laid back down on the floor. I placed a pillow by his head and he snuggled in, falling asleep instantly. I stood up and walked to the kitchen, careful not to wake him. Pouring a glass of milk, I sat back next to the child and handed him the glass, waking I'm up almost instantly. As he drank from the tall glass of milk, I rubbed the area behind his ears, making him purr and his tail twitch. This little cat-boy was alone. I could see it in his eyes. He finished drinking, so I placed the glass farther away.
"Whats your name my little kitten?" I asked softly.
He looked up with big green eyes surrounded by his curly hair.
"H-Harry. My names Harry."
