I knew my cousin's girlfriend could ramble, but, well, this was a step above rambling.
"It's Lydia Martin's lake house. Actually, it's her grandmother's lake house. But she's dead, so it's okay.
I mean, it's not okay that she's dead. Unless she was in pain-"
Liam, who has been wincing in the front seat, obviously affected by the full moon, interrupts the kits-fox, or whatever she is,mid-sentence.
"Can you turn the music down?" he ask, and Kira and I exchange a look in the rear view mirror. The music was barely audible.
"You want me to turn the music up?" she asks.
Enhanced hearing. I reflect as Kira kicks it up a few notches, watching as Liam's pained expression relaxes into one of calamity.
All too soon, we're there, and Liam is suspicious.
"Who'd you say was coming to this party?"
"Um, Everyone." she smiles nervously, and who's idea was it to make sweet, nervous, never-tells-a-lie Kira drive us here?
Liam frowns at the four cars. " So then where is everyone?"
Kira panics. "They're here. It's a small party."
I practically face palm.
Liam squints at the junior. "You said everyone was coming."
I interject before Kira makes it worse. "They are. They're late. And we're early. So we better hurry. Yay, party!" I exclaim, pushing them forward and toward the door.
I'm not sure what expression Liam makes I close the door, and trap him in. It must be something akin to betrayal, because my stomach curls with guilt.
"What the hell is this?" Liam hisses, and Stiles smiles.
"Think of it like an intervention. You have a problem, Liam. And we're the only ones that can help."
They spend the next few minutes explaining like the did to me,albeit a few things since the moon is already out and all, and Liam wastes more time by naming all of the supernatural creatures again.
Liam notices a set of chains on the table, no doubt reminiscing his time being held captive by Scott and Stiles. "Are those for me?" You can't miss the voice quiver.
"No, they're for me." Malia answers, flashing her eyes blue, and Liam jumps.
"How did you do that?" he demands, and Scott holds up a placating hand."You'll learn." he assures the beta. "But first, you need to get through the full moon."
"The moon's already out." Liam growls, and I push closer to the door, knowing he was going to shift.
"And you're starting to feel something, aren't you?"
"I feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of psychotic nutjobs!"Liam shouts, and I sigh. "You guys are out of your freaking minds!I don't know how you did that eye thing and I don't care! I'm walking out the door right now! If any of you try to stop me, I swear to God, I'm gonna.. gonna.."
And then he falls to his knees, screaming, and I look to Scott, alarmed. He looked baffled as well.
"What's wrong, Liam?" he questions, and Liam hisses a little before replying.
"You don't hear that?" he whimpers, and my heart might physically be breaking.
"Hear what, what is happening?" I'm on the ground next to him now, and at that moment, light enters the room as cars pull up.
