Us- A Jailey Fan Fiction

Prologue-

Hailey's POV
December 31, 2015. The last day of the year. I was on vacation in Anguilla with a close friend of mine and his family. For the longest time we have been like brother and sister, but lately my feelings toward him have started changing. I like him. Like really like him. But I could never say anything because I'm sure he's doesn't feel the same. His heart is still broken and he needs time to heal. So I just keep those feelings to myself. I'm currently getting ready for the NYE dinner with him and his family when I hear a knock at the door. Shit I'm not ready yet! "Coming!" I yell at the door as I run around my hotel room to get my shoes and my clutch. As I open the door, I see a beautiful man staring back at me. God did that suit do him wonders. "Hi" I smile at him. He kisses my cheek politely and I melt to his touch. The simplest of gestures makes me turn to mush. "Ready to go?" he asked me. I nodded and I walked out the door. We walked down the hallway in comfortable silence and when we turned the corner we met up with the rest of his family. I hugged them all as we all headed down to dinner.

After dinner, I headed up to my room to change again for the real party that we are going to. I put on my favorite outfit I brought on vacation and took a selfie posting it to Instagram. Once again a knock sounded at my door and the beautiful man returns looking even better than before. We both changed into something more casual for the party because it was at someone's beach house. I smiled at him and he said "I saw your Instagram, you looked good". I blushed as he complimented me. "We should get going before we're late" I said. He nodded as we walked to our car.

When we arrived at the party we greeted a couple of our friends and made our way to the bar.  He ordered our drinks for us and we clinked our glasses together and drank to the new year. The party was going great, we were hanging around laughing drinking and talking all night and before I knew it there were only 10 seconds until midnight. The whole crowd gathered around, champagne in hand, and started counting down. "10, 9, 8," the crowd screamed. I looked at the man standing next to me, so carefree and happy, and I started counting down with them. He smiled at me as the crowd continued "3, 2, 1, HAPPY NEW YEAR!". I laughed as everyone around me turned to kiss their significant other. In an instant my whole world changed. He grabbed my chin and kissed me on the lips, hard. I was so surprised but immediately closed my eyes and relaxed into our kiss. In that moment it felt like the whole world was right. I pulled back, gasping for air, as he smiled at me and said "Happy New Year". I smiled back at him, still in disbelief of what just happened. I just kissed Justin Bieber.
