Chapter 16 - Heading Out.

-- Felix's P.O.V --

We stumbled back into the living room, sitting down on the couch.

I stared at Cry, slightly annoyed he pulled me outside.

Cry shrugged and chuckled sensing my discomfort.

I glanced at him then at the ground, worrying about Jennifer.

Neither of us said a word, we were just lost in our thoughts.

'Do you think we could find Marzia..?' Cry broke the silence.

Not this again..

I sighed, 'I don't know, do you.?' My voice soft.

'I know where they headed off to, we could try and search for her. It wouldn't hurt right.?' Cry hopefully said.

My face perked up, lighting of excitement. Was there actually a chance of finding her.?

'Do you think we can head out.?' I said enthusiastic.

'We could try..' Cry responded.

'Great lets go.!' I anxiously said, hopping up from the couch.

'Hold on we have to get ready first, and see who'll come along with us.'

I rushed out of the living room and followed into the other living room Luke and Adriana were in, as if responding to Cry's statement.

They both questionably looked at me, confused of my actions.

'Hey guys..' I started. 'Do you want to go and help me and Cry search for my girlfriend..?' My voice trailed off.

They both looked at each other, then back at me, as If approving of the plan.

'If it's really important to you, then sure.' Adriana accepted.

'Start getting ready then, were leaving in a couple minutes.' I informed and walked out of the room back to Cry.

'Well..?' Cry asked.

'They both said yes.' I grinned.

'What about Lisa and Jennifer.?' Cry glanced over to the kitchen door.

'Let them stay, we won't be gone for long.' I said, not wanting to take the whole crew along.

'Besides, Lisa has to take care of poor Jennifer.' I included.

Cry nodded and stood up from the couch.

'Okay, I'll go start the car and you can gather all the supplied we will need. Remember to tell the girls that we'll be gone.' Cry instructed.

I nodded and watched Cry go outside. I immediately called Luke and Adriana and told them about the situation. They agreed and helped me gather supplies for the trip.

I carried my duffel bag on my shoulder and stuffed inside with extra guns, food, medical supplies, a flashlight, and other useful things.

When we were about done, I handed the pair my duffel bag and told them to wait outside. They obeyed and followed outside while I lightly opened the door to the kitchen were Lisa and Jennifer was at.

'Hello..' I softly said peeking my head in.

Lisa was wrapping a bandage around Jennifer's hand tightly and secured it with a safety pin. They both looked at me upon my entrance.

'Yes Felix.?' Lisa said, a hint of impatient in her voice.

'Were going to head out and look for-

'Look Felix, I have a new bandage.! Lisa got rid of the old one.' Jennifer interrupted, showing me her hand.

I smiled and ruffled her hair, 'That's great Jennifer..'

She giggled and stared at her bandage, Lisa tipped her head as if telling me to go on.

'As I was saying.. Luke, Cry, Adriana and I are going to head out and look for my girlfriend.' 'I want you to take care of Jen for me Lisa.'

'Wait you're leaving..?' 'Let me come with you.!' Jennifer looked at me with her puppy eyes.

'No Hun, we have to stay here.. It's going to be dangerous out there.' Lisa patiently said.

'Oh.. why are you going if it's dangerous.?' Jennifer clung to me.

'To.. To find someone I really love.' I responded.

'Don't leave.. I don't want anything to happen to you.' Jen fought back, despite anything I said.

'Im sorry..' I unhooked Jen's fingers off of me and gently pushed her back towards Lisa.

'No..!' Jennifer voice filled with sadness.

'I don't want to lose you, like my mom and dad.! Come back.!' Jen pleaded.

Lisa hugged her tightly and glanced at me as if signaling to leave now. I made my way to the door as I saw Jen's face go pale, she really didn't want me to go..

'I'll come back, I promise.' I said as I headed out closing the door behind me.

I rushed outside, not waiting to be in this house anymore.

I closed the door behind me and jogged over to the humming vehicle waiting for me.

I opened the door and sat in the front with Cry, with Luke and Adriana sitting in the back with our duffel bag.

'Ready to go everyone.?' Cry asked.

'Yep..' Everyone responded.

Cry started backing out of the house, getting farther and farther away from the safe shelter.

What if I don't come back.? What if I leave Jennifer alone.? These thoughts floating in my head.

I shook it off and told myself to relax and not worry about it.

Cry started asking about our experience before we got to his house, to prevent it from being awkward.
I sat there quiet, not really wanting to talk, letting Luke and Adriana answer the questions.

They talked all about their time before I got there at the camp.

How Lisa's boyfriend got bit.

How someone raided their R.V.

How Jennifer and I came along.

How the herd came along.

Beth and Joseph's death..

I frowned, reliving all these horrible memories.

'Are you okay Felix.?'

I snapped back into reality and looked at Cry. I realized I haven't been saying anything since I got in the car.

'Yeah, I'm fine, just a little shaken I guess.' I made up an excuse.

'Don't worry about it.' Cry said his famous childhood slogan.

I chuckled and looked ahead, not knowing how far this place is.

'So where exactly is this place Cry.?' I asked.

'Eh, we're almost there.' Cry said not taking his eyes off the road.

I sighed and looked outside my window, seeing the Roamers wander around aimlessly. It's sad how the world has come to this all of the sudden.

I just hope Marzia is okay.

We finally stopped infront of this supermarket Cry talked about. It looked my serious and scary, with the windows broken and everything empty.

We quickly went outside and then entered the supermarket with our supplies.

'Alright Cry, you're the master. What do we do.?' I joked.

'We need to spread out and look for clues on where they went. I know what direction the headed off to but I still wanted to look here for anything that might help us.' Cry confirmed.

'Cool, lets get started.' Adriana said.

'Everyone knows how to use a gun right.?' Luke asks.

Everyone nodded, all ready to start.

'Alright guys, lets look for some clues.' Cry said.
