-Summary of last chapter: Danielle was shot by Shane because he was aiming for Rick and missed.-
I walked outside, watching as everyone began to pack up their things.
"Stop." I ordered.
"What are you doing?" Beth asked.
"Letting them stay." I replied.
"Where's dad? I haven't seen him all day." Maggie stated.
"Stop packing up! You assholes can stay!" I yelled after they ignored me.
"Geez." Beth mumbled to herself.
-
"Dad used to drink a lot." Maggie told Rick who was helping us find our father after we discovered he was missing.
"I have a feeling I know where he is." Rick replied.
"Can I come?" I asked, following him as he walked down the stairs and outside.
"I think it's better if you stay here. We don't want to overwhelm him." He replied.
I slowly nodded before walking back inside.
-
"Thanks for bringing my dad back." I told Rick.
"Whatever." He mumbled, walking away.
"What's your problem?" I asked, following him.
"What isn't my problem?" He asked, turning around.
"You got a point." I muttered.
"Listen. You shouldn't have said shit about Lori the other day. She's going through a lot right now." He stated.
"And you think no one else is?" I asked.
"You outed her in front of everyone. Do you know how embarrassing that is? We all know you've done some things that you're not proud of, what if someone blasted you like that?" He interrogated.
"You don't know shit." I spat.
"Yeah, and you don't either." He snapped.
"I know enough to know she's a whore and you run back to her every chance you get, then you get hurt again, and then you wonder who's fault it is. Open your eyes, Rick." I bit.
"Dinner's ready!" Annette yelled from the porch.
"Stay away from me and my family." Rick demanded, backing away from me before turning and walking away.
I scoffed and walked back to the house.
"How are you feeling, Dani?" Beth inquired.
"My arm is sore, but I'm fine." I answered, forcing a smile.
"Hungry? We fixed a mighty good supper." Annette stated.
"I am, actually." I replied, looking at the food on the table.
"Wow, this is the best we've had in a while." I declared.
"Yeah, so you better enjoy it." Beth laughed.
-
I laid down on the roof of the RV and looked up at the stars.
"Rough day?" Daryl asked.
"Rough life." I answered.
"Sometimes I wonder if all of this is a dream, or maybe I'm in a coma." I stated.
"I wish it was, but it's not." Daryl replied.
"I wanna leave this place." I replied, now sitting up.
"Where ya gonna go?" He asked.
"Anywhere." I answered.
I looked to Daryl, hearing a gunshot in the distance.
"That was close." Daryl stated.
I climbed down from the RV and walked further into the field.
"Holy shit, Daryl!" I yelled.
"We're fucked." He stated, now seeing what I was seeing.
A huge herd of walkers coming off of the hill, on their way towards the farm.
There's no way we could make it if we didn't leave now.
I ran back over to the yard, yelling at everyone to get up and leave.
"I ain't going anywhere!" My father yelled, getting a rifle as I ran inside.
"Dad, you have to!" Maggie replied.
"Come on, we're leaving." Daryl ordered, handing me a pistol.
"Meet us on the highway." I told Maggie before following Daryl.
-
"Annette didn't make it." T-Dog told me while pulling me in for a hug.
"Where's Shane?" I asked, realizing that he was the only one missing from our group except for Annette and Andrea.
Andrea also didn't make it.
"He's, uh, dead." Rick declared.
