Chapter 51: Loveliness

Daniel's P.O.V

I sat by Summer's bed and grabbed her hand. I kinda just stared at her. It's not THAT creepy. I mean it sounds creepy but it's not. She's my girlfriend. And I love her. And when she wakes up, and I'm sure she will.. I'm going to show her. I'm going to express my love for her before my brother John gets to her. I can't let that happen. I won't let that happen. She's mine. Forever and always. She's the girl that has made her mark in my heart. I can't say it's hers for the taking because she already stole it.

"Daniel, you think their going to be okay, right?" Derek asked pressing Rosie's hand to his cheek, then to his lips, then back to his cheek. His cheeks and shirt are tear- stained like mine.

"I know they will be. They have to," I said. He nodded with fresh tears in his eyes. I rubbed my thumb against Summer's hand. This girl is going to be my everything someday. She'll be my wife. She'll be the mother of my kids. She'll be the reason I'll work to pay bills an things. She'll be the reason I love. She'll be the reason I live. And most important she will love me back. Same for Rosie and Derek I think. You can tell he really cares about her.

Derek's P.O.V

This girl... I can't tell you how much I love her. She is my everything. She always will be. Forever and always.

I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw her brother Logan.

"Can I take your place for a while?" He asked. I can't leave her. Why is he asking this of me?! I can't.

"I can't leave her-" I started but he cut me off. New tears escaped the corners of his eyes.

"Please! She's my sister and I need her to know I love her! I have to help take care of her! Please..." He said, stuttering. I got up. He placed his hand on the breathing mask and sat down. "Thank you."

"Your welcome," I said. Then I started to walk away.

"Oh, and Derek?" Logan asked, causing me to stop.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"I know you love her. I highly appreciate that but if you EVER hurt her... You'll be the one laying in the hospital bed," he said.

"Understood," I said and walked out.
