Beginning of Day Five
"Breakfast. Breakfast is what I need," Andrew muttered to himself as he inched out of bed. I smiled sleepily.
"Is food always your first concern when you wake up?" Andrew tugged on his shirt and smiled at me.
"Well, duh." I shook my head at him.
"You're an ass." He winked at me.
"Lucky for you, I'm an ass who can cook. Be right back." He disappeared into the hallway pulling the door shut behind him. I didn't like the idea of him roaming the house by himself; I was risking letting him socialize with my friends just for the sake of a cheese omlet, some bacon, and maybe some hash browns.Though I had to admit that a strawberry banana smoothie sounded freaking amazing at the moment.
I groaned and pulled myself out of bead. I shivered. The air conditioning was heavy and all I was wearing was a cami and some panties. I wrapped my arms around myself while I looked for my sweatpants. I found them discarded on the bathroom floor.
I padded through the hallway and down the steps. I could hear the sizzling of eggs and the smell of bacon slipped under my nose. I took a deep breath and smiled.
"Smells amazing," I told Andrew, coming into the kitchen. Lucy and Aaron were seated at the counter, watching Andrew as he cooked. He looked over his shoulder at me.
"Hey, you!" Lucy and Aaron raised their eyebrows at me in unison. I rolled my eyes.
"Shut up," I mouthed, sitting down next to them.
"Breakfast?" He asked without turning around to face me.
"Yeah, please."
"You got it." He flipped the omlet onto a plate and scooped some bacon onto it.
"Here you go." He slid the plate across the counter to me.
"This looks delicious. Thank you." He smiled.
"You're welcome." He pressed a gentle kiss to my lips and then turned to the stove.
"Hey, Aaron?" I said.
"Yeah?"
"Will you make me one of your famous strawberry smoothies? I've been craving one all day."
"You've been up for ten minutes, Hay-" His eyes widened, Lucy snapped her head over to him. Panic rose in my throat. I didn't understand why I was freaking out so much over a little slip-up. It didn't matter if he knew my first name and it didn't matter I knew his.
"Charlie. I meant Charlie." Aaron dropped his gaze to his lap. "Sorry," he muttered.
I nodded my forgiveness at him.
"I'll make you that smoothie now, Charlie." I shook my head.
"No, it's cool. I have to get dressed."
"You sure?"
"Yeah," I said, taking one last bite of bacon before jumping off of my stool.
"You coming, Andrew?" I asked.
"Yeah, coming." I led the way up the steps, taking them two at a time.
"Woah, slow down, Char," he teased. 'It's not a race." I stopped dead in my stacks and turned towards him, a smile slipping across my lips.
"I run...if I want to run." A mischeivious look flashed in his eyes as I leaned down to kiss the corner of his mouth. He tried to hold on and kiss me longer by slipping his fingers behind my ear. But I backed away from him and skipped up the rest of the steps. He laughed and bounded up the rest of the steps after me, trying to grab at me and pull me towards him.
