Falling.

Wira had never liked Alice in Wonderland. A dreamy girl who fell down a hole into a wonderland that lead her on magical adventures and returned unscathed was unappealing to one who had never believed. Chasing white rabbits who could talk, falling down land-mines disguised as hare holes was never appealing to her. Funnily enough, the only thing she was thinking of as she fell into a dark slumber was falling. Upside down, downside up. Pianos, frills, and dim lanterns spiralled around her as she fell. Nonsense mixed with stupidity in a dumb cocktail that she didn't want to drink, she was breathing in. Falling. She turned left and right in a muddle of words she couldn't string together, mouth glued shut by nouns and adjectives she couldn't force out. Falling. Spinning. Spiralling out of control.

Falling.

An emptiness that was so indescribable overcast her thoughts. An oppression of the senses. Falling. She was becoming something she loathed. She was useless. No longer in control, and for the first time, afraid. Falling. Afraid of falling, afraid of what would happen when she stopped. Would she die? She had never been afraid of death before. Not her own. But her family...where was everyone? Why was she the only one who was falling? Falling. Thinking was becoming unthinkable. Breathing...was she breathing? Was she alive? Falling. Why was she falling?

Falling. Falling. Wira was so sick of it. This must be some kind of sadistic dream. A hallucination, from lack of sleep. Yes, that must be what it is.

Falling. Wira couldn't tell what time it was.

Falling. Was she still herself?

Falling. Would she ever stop falling?

No.

No.

Stop asking yourself these questions. Stop thinking. Close your eyes.

Falling. Why am I so dizzy? Where am I?

Falling. Take deep breaths.

Falling.

Plummeting, plunging, pitching.

Stumbling, staggering, sinking.

 Diving.

Tumbling, collapsing.

Slipping, sliding.

Fading.

Falling.
