In the darkest of times, light will shine through. In the form of hopes, dreams and love. After all, living is only surviving, just with happiness.
When I was small and naive, my father told me that. He said that believing was everything. That you can succeed just by putting your faith in fate. All you need is family, and love, to get you through the toughest times in life. I listened with all my heart. I trusted. I believed.
That all came tumbling down, one night. Turns out that believing won't pay the bills, or give you happiness. He looked me in the eye and told me to keep believing. To keep trusting. He told us that someone would come and pick it up tomorrow. Then, he turned right around, picked up his shiny, new, green suitcase, put it in the boot of the woman's car and left. Without looking back. Breaking the bond. Breaking my trust.
Tick.
What was that?
Tock.
Dad?
Tick.
You left me.
Tock.
Why? Am I not enough?
Tick. Tock.
Don't you love me?
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
