It was a hot and sticky late afternoon. Clary and Jace just got back from fighting a rather difficult demon. It was about six feet tall with huge fangs and talons, and a very nasty breath. They weren’t expecting such high level demon when they got the call and they didn’t have time to call for back-up once they were ambushed.

And so, Clary was sporting a nasty cut on her harm which is healing quite nicely due to the healing rune, and Jace was limping slightly from being hurled across the room and tumbled down the flight of stairs. Clary was pretty tired, and yet her heart thrummed in her rib cage- which was either due to the after-effects of adrenaline or because Jace had his arm around her waist.

They reached her room first, so she turned around to face Jace, “This is me-“ she was cut midsentence because Jace suddenly wrapped his arms around her and pressed his lips on hers. She sighed and Jace, taking advantage of her slightly parted lips deepened the kiss, expertly turning the knob open in the process.

They tumbled inside, kissing and frantically trying to take off as much clothing as possible until they reached the bed. It was as if the adrenaline from demon fighting hasn’t completely worn off from their bodies and they needed to let it all out.

“Aren’t you tired?” Clary asked breathlessly as Jace worked his mouth down from her jaw, to her neck, to her clavicle. She felt him smile against her skin.

“I’ve never been more fired up.” She grabbed on to him then, not knowing whether she wanted to push against him or pull him towards her. Lost in their heated passion, they didn’t notice the knock on the door, and when the door opened, they froze.

“What the hell are you doing?!” Sebastian stood regally on the door frame, his usually angelic face now contorted into an angry growl. Clary scrambled to get out from under Jace but he wasn’t moving.

“We are enjoying an adult moment here Seb, I’m sure you already know what that means.” Jace replied seemingly unfazed by the sudden appearance of Clary’s brother. Clary squeezed his arms, silently asking him to stop.

“Get.Off.My.Sister” Sebastian warned as he stepped forward menacingly.

“In the Angel’s name Sebastian! Will you stop overreacting?!” Clary finally blurted out. She was over the shock of seeing her brother walk in on her and Jace, and her shock was now replaced with frustration and irritation. Sebastian shot her a look that says “stay out of this”, but instead he said, “You should be thanking me dear sister because I am trying to defend your…” he motioned his hands towards her general area, “…whatever it is that I should be defending.”

“And you!” his attention now towards Jace who rolled off Clary and sat up lazily. “Don’t take liberties with my sister!”  Clary blushed despite herself.

“She is now my fiancé and I can take my liberties wherever I want.” Jace challenged.

“But she is my sister first!” Sebastian growled.

“Stop it! Both of you should learn to play nicely or I won’t speak to either of you!”

Sebastian smiled slyly, “there is one way to settle this.”

“and what’s that?” Jace said inspecting his fingernails as if it was more important than dealing with Clary’s brother. “Meet me at the training room in 15 minutes.” Sebastian challenged as he moved to exit the room. But before he closed it, he said, “and don’t get any ideas in that 15minutes.”

Clary and Jace looked at each other once he was out of the room and burst out laughing.

“God, I hate your brother.” Jace said as he climbed on top of her again, nuzzling his face on her hair which was sprawled on the bed. She laughed. “You think we can do it in 15minutes?” he said, his voice muffled by her hair.

Clary eyed him, not sure whether he was actually serious but then, Jace pushed himself off her, just far enough so that they were face to face.

“No. I’d rather not take chances. Who knows when he’s going to barge in here again. I for one, do not want him to witness such shocking acts.

Clary punched him playfully in the stomach. “Stop it. But seriously, you should get going.”

Jace kissed her deeply then, his mouth working wickedly on hers, his tongue teasing. She moaned a sigh of pleasure and a growl sounded from the back of his throat, “I’d rather be with you now than face your rampaging brother.”

“I know,” she sighed, “but tell you what, if you can kick his ass, I’ll make it so worthwhile for you.” She smiled the way Isabelle taught her how, wielding her innate feminine superiority.

Jace grinned boyishly, taking on the challenge. “I’ll see you tonight.” He said as he kissed her one more time before he took his clothes and went straight for the training room.
