chapter two

"Alright class, bells gonna ring soon you can all go" Mr Murphy said, "girls can i have a quick word with you?" he looked at me and rydel.

"Sure" rydel smiled, "what's up?"

"You both have 3 months work to catch up on, but it's all easy and we could probably go through it in a month if we stay behind a couple nights a week"

"Seriously?" i groaned, the idea of being at school when i could be at home napping made me angry.

"Yeh, one hour on three nights a week and we'll have caught up in no time"

I rolled my eyes "okay I’m not a big fan of the whole staying behind thing so can you not like, give me the work and i can do it at home or in my frees or something?" i suggested in hope that it would prevent me from having to stay behind.

"No, you need to stay so i can explain it all to you"

"Come on Dana, it'll be fun" rydel piped up

"Well what days would it be on?"

"Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Also rydel, I’m going to ask your brothers if they want to come to it so they can all catch up as well"

"Whoa, not Fridays. You are not keeping me here when it's practically the weekend. Nope. No way. Not gonna happen"

"Right we can do it on Tuesdays instead, but i expect you to attend"

"Eh, maybe" i said, picking up my bag and walking out of class.

"Dana waits up" rydel called from behind me. I stopped walking in the middle of the hallway and someone ran into me. I looked down to see Rydel’s brother sprawled out on the floor with books and papers surrounding him.

"Jesus Christ" i whispered to myself, "rydel I’ll meet you later"

As she walked off, his eyes shot open and gave me the dirtiest look I’d ever received.

"What the fuck?" he looked really pissed off, but in a hot way, "oh it's you, the sarcastic bitch from the office" he said, standing up.

"I prefer to be called Dana"

"I prefer to not be knocked over when I’m late" he bent down to start picking up his stuff. "You could help me, after all this is your fault"

I bent down, "actually rydel told me to wait for her so i stopped so it's kinda Rydel’s fault, if we're blaming anybody but why blaming people, when we can forgive them"

"You’re something else aren't you" he grinned

"That’s one way of putting it" i laughed

He looked right into my eyes, smiled, stood up and put his hand out to help me up.

"Thanks" i smiled; he still had a hold of my hand.

"It was nice running into you but I’ve gotta go, PE calls"

"Would you like to bunk off with me?" i asked him quickly

"It’s our first day and you wanna bunk off? That’s really badass Dana"

"That’s how i roll" i grinned, "come on, you don't look like you do sports and I’m not in the mood for biology"

"You really are something else"

"I know, so lets skip?" i tugged on his hand and he smiled.

"Fine"

I got a warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy, kinda like when my mom makes pancakes.
