Once Dan is back in the office he sits down and reclaims his larger from this earlier and drinks the remaining of the alcohol beverage before wiping his mouth with his blazer sleeve. He then dogs down deep in his skinny jeans pocket and gets out his phone, his work company phone that is mandatory that every person in Wild World owns.
Just with one click Dan calls up a person named 'Anonymous' he slouches against a cold brick wall with one leg leaned against it while the other stands firmly on the floor. After three rings Anonymous picks up the phone.
Dan knows the silence is a cue to talk to Anonymous first. "Laureline is a pretty stubborn girl. Wonder where she get's that from then?" Dan tries to make a joke as Anonymous on the other end of the line stays in silence.
"Just don't hurt her. She's a good girl." Anonymous has a light American accent. Well he seems to have emotion in his voice. Dan thinks to himself.
"That's what I want to talk to you about. I am gonna give my word so that if she ever has been sussed out I should be the lesser of two evils?" Anonymous makes a short but effective stubborn laugh on the other end of the line. Fucking tosser.
"Why Laureline? She is gonna fall from that tower no matter what. I would really of liked to listen to the plan she thinks she is involved in." Dan closes his eyes and shakes his head. Anonymous is his boss and he must know what they told Laureline.
"Dan-" Anonymous says as Dan holds his head.
"We told her that to destroy Wild World Communications we need people that can lie and that this corrupt society is taking innocent people's life, she knows that because that is the only truth I think this girl can-I dunno...fucking tolerate at the moment? She doesn't know the actual plan." Dan says as he puts his hand in his blazer pockets getting out an lighter and a loose cigarette. He never smokes anymore, he used to be a big smoker but stopped when his sister's son was born before Wild World Communications was set up. Kyle gave him one, and surprisingly Kyle doesn't smoke either but had two cigarettes and two spare lighters hanging around.
Since Dan is under stress he rests the phone on his shoulder and put his war against it quickly putting the cigarette in his mouth and lighting it. He then puts the sliver small lighter away in his pocket before grabbing the phone. "The plan where Wild World's future is based on her actions?" Dan inhales deeply closing his eyes before he becomes breathless and puffs out the smoke, clenching the cigarette between his fingers. With his arm crossing underneath the arm that holds the phone still with back against the wall.
"Can you assure me that Laureline is gonna be okay?" Dan shrugs.
"I don't know. Like I said before, I will be her lesser of two evils. I will make sure that she will never fall, but I can't guarantee anything else since if she can't fall and if she is discovered-she'll be imprisoned." Dan knows' there is something suspicious about Mr. Anonymous-this isn't the real master plan either. Only Dan is the one with a plan, to escape Wild World with his four colleagues, kill the technology, turn off the camera's...help people to learn emotions once again, to get them back into being not perfect human beings.
"I will call you tomorrow when we will take out the Communications." Dan looks at the camera above his head, the Cameras are controlled by Mr. Anonymous up in the Wild World Communications tower. The camera adjusts to Dan's face.
"I will edit the surveillance camera and delete the phone call." Mr. Anonymous hangs up. This guy is up to something. Dan thinks to himself before going back into the tower.
He goes up to Mark Crews and stands beside him, making out he is doing mathematical data. Mark is like the fifth member of the Bastille Company. He is trust worthy but he does turn his back on the other members of the Bastille Company when they need him the most. "Why Laureline, Daniel?" Mark says hissing Dan's real name.
"Not here, Mark-" Dan quickly changes the subject.
"Look at this, Wild World Communications in every single household. We have actually achieved our goal." Dan makes out to be happy.
None of this wasn't his fault. This wasn't his idea, although many people look up to Dan as a god, he is just a normal man, a young business man who knows how to make people fall in love with him without even saying a word. He is respected but dislikes the feeling because that this is-it's dictatorship.
"Well. That is incredibly good news, good job." Mark sarcastically says as Dan slightly fowls at Mark shaking his head.
Mark is gonna get himself killed, Dan think to himself. Even though Dan is the brains behind this dysfunctional society he isn't the guy who runs the place. Dan is the judge, he tells whether people should die or not. 'Lesser of two evils' he calls himself. Either die or go into captivity for the rest of your life without bail. Lesser of two evils has no wrongs, no rights. Only a winner and a loser. A winner and a loser, people in general, everyone wins this game-a game of life and death. Life isn't the prize in Wild World. Death is, death let's you be free and that's why the rule breakers and sentenced to die not because they are wrong or right about whatever petty crime they were accused of doing; but because they are free from being trapped in Wild World.
"I have to go, can you please see Reynolds out." Dan says as Mark looks at Dan questionably. Sometimes I wish I could just drop the fucking act. Why should we not be able to be ourselves. This society is making everyone be the same, making every-fucking-one fucking perfect. We are not that different. We are one as a community and Wild World really is taking the piss.
"But your shift hasn't ended?" Dan closes his eyes and rubs his forehead looking stressed.
"Fuck it. I'm out of here." Dan takes off his blazer and undos the top button of his now creased shirt.
Dan walks out of the Communications tower and goes straight to his car in his reserved parking space. "Mr. Daniel Campbell Smith, return to head office now!" His car automatically doesn't start when he inserts his keycard in to the keycard compartment. They fucking shut down my car?
"FUCK YOU!" Dan screams holding his middle finger up.
"To all Wild World residents, if you disobey rule one hundred and thirty two you will be automatically be a wanted citizen" the invisible speakers are so loud that people are forced to listen to them.
"Fuck rule one hundred and thirty two, then." Dan angrily says getting out of his car still holding his blazer. Rule one hundred and thirty two-that is probably like no fucking swearing you dickhead-don't walk out when your on the job. Did Kyle make those rules? I didn't make any rules at all...who the fuck even made the rules? Oh my god?
"Stay where you are security will be with you shortly." Bullshit. I made this fucking world and me and the actual manager are planning to destroy everything Wild World has got to offer. He won't take no bullshit.
Dan looks straight into the camera, he knows there are thousands of people monitoring his every move, he isn't the only one being watched every single one of Wild Worlds residents are. "Miss. Brooke's violence is not tolerated. Security will be with you momentarily." Another announcer says. As Dan goes back into the tower and straight to the room where it is ever so quiet...and no random announcer telling someone off for something petty.
"What made you come back then?" Woody questionably says looking at Dan as he shuts the door and sinks down until he sits on the floor with his back resting against the door.
"Wild World." He whispers.
