Hailey's pov

I'd woken up this morning to see the kitchen cupboards were completely bare and the fridge was empty. It was Kelsi turn to go shopping, but obviously the task was far to great for her to even remember. It's the last time I trust her to go grocery shopping. I will just do it myself from now on.

I walked out of the shop with the food in my hands. I made my way down the street and to the crosswalk. I waited for the sign to say walk then I started crossing the street. I was close to the other side of the rode when out of no where a car started speeding straight towards me. I quickly ran out of the way and the driver slammed on his breaks and stepped out of the car completely red in the face.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" He yelled right into my face. I stood there with a blank expression, I wasn't in the mood to argue with this imbecile. "Are you just going to stand there or are you going to answer me?"

"I'm sorry." I said barely above a whisper.

"What was that?" He said and a crowd was starting to form and the guy was starting to hold up traffic. I turned to walk away, but the man caught my wrist and yanked me back. He had a really tight grip on my wrist and he had it twisted and it was very painful. I let out a pain filled yelp and he just tighten the grip on my wrist.

"Let her go!" Someone screamed from the crowd of people. The voice was deep and husky, but I couldn't make out who had said that. The man laughed and yanked me closer making me cry out again.

"Looks like you've got a hero, babe." The man said.

"Don't call me that!" I screamed.

"I said LET HER GO!" The voice said again, but this time I saw the person who the voice belonged to. He was a man who looked to be about my age and he was about 5"10. He had green eyes and curly brown hair. He was wearing a plain white V-neck with skinny khakis and white converse.

The man who came to my rescue pulled his arm back and punched the man who had me right in the jaw. The man let go of me and punched the other man right in the eye. He walked back to his car and sped away. I dropped my grocerys on the side walk and helped the man up off the ground and I took him back to my flat.

I opened the door and led the man in. I made him sit at the bar while I got some ice to put on his already blackening eye. I pulled a stool up infront of his and I sat down right infront of him. I leaned forward and I placed the ice on his eye. He hissed in pain and tensed, but after a while he relaxed.

"Thank you." I said after a while of silence.

"It's no problem really. I noticed he was hurting you and no one else was doing anything. I didn't want to watch you get seriously hurt then think that I could've done something to stop it." He said grabbing the ice from my hand. I got up and went to the stove to make us some tea.

"Well, thank you. There aren't many people in the world like you anymore. Most of the people watching probably wouldn't have said anything. You really saved me from a tragedy. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you? I really apreciate what you have done." I said handing him a cup of tea.

"Oh no, I don't need anything in return. Knowing your safe is all I need." He said sipping his tea.

"I'm Hailey by the way." I said sipping my tea.

"Harry." He said holding out his hand to shake. I took it greatfully and shook it.

We sat in the kitchen and talked about random things and we laughed a little. I wasn't searching for a relationship, but I really felt a real connection with Harry. We were having so much fun that I didn't even realize what time it was.
