Chapter 5

Sapphire POV

As we walk out of the hospital, people keep bowing to us. I have to ask him why the people bow down to us. I take a peek at Xavier and see that he has a scar under his chin and that he looks tense.

"That's because he is. Touch him." Starfire tells me.

I grab a finger which must have startled him because he stops for a quick second before walking again. I take another peek and feel happy because he's smiling.

I look around to see that we are outside and are headed for a truck. Suddenly, a woman yells his name.

"My Prince, I'd like to talk to you for a minute."

He turns towards the voice and so do I. My eyes grow wide, seeing how gorgeous she looks. She looks at me and says,

"You must be his mate. She's beautiful."

I can hear Starfire growling in my ears.

"Starfire, behave. He knows that we're mates." I say to her.

"Thank you, Luna Rain and of course."

He turns to me and says, "I'll be right back. Why don't you go sit in the truck and wait for me?"

I nodded my head and he kisses me on the top of the head before following Luna Rain back to the house. As I walk back to the truck, a girl stops me.

"Hey, do you know where Xavier went?"

I nod my head and point to the house.

"Thanks." She chirps and walks to the house.

I continue walking towards the truck when a man walks up to me. He seems familiar.

"Hi. You probably don't remember me but I was the wolf that you rode on."

I nod my head, writing on my notepad: I remember you- and hand it to him.

He smiles and says, "My name is James, by the way. I'm the Gamma."

He hands me back the notepad and I point to my name.

"That's a pretty name."

"Hey, hey, you."

I turned around to see that it's the girl again and she walks towards me.

"I hope you know that we had sex and he loved every minute of it."

James growls which causes me to jump and moves in front of me. I felt really sad and Starfire begins to whimper. But before I could ask why, she retreats into the back of my mind.

"You little-."

He takes a deep breath before speaking.

"You really thought he was gonna pick you as his mate? Get the hell out of here before I tell him and you'll be sorry."

The girl merely smirks and says, "Jokes on you. I told him I was gonna tell her."

"Tell who what?"

She spins around to find Xavier headed back our way.

"Let me put Sapphire in the truck." James says.

I agree.

He opens the door and my eyes grow big. It's really clean inside and has a nice smell. I inhale deeply and crawl in. I sit down and feel the soft stuff that I am sitting on. I like it. It's squishy.

Jason closes the car door and I look out the window. Whatever James is telling Xavier is pissing him off. Xavier then yells at the girl who looks scared and Starfire chuckles.

"That's what you get." She says.

James and Xavier make there way back to the truck. I move over as Xavier opens the car door and gets inside, slamming the door. James goes to the other side of the car with this weird circle thing in front of him.

I point at the thing and Xavier asks, "Do you know what this is?"

I write on the notepad: Sort of - and hand it back to him.

He looks surprised and asks me another question "Where you allowed to leave the cabin?"

I shake my head no.

He then asks me one more question "Okay. Last question. Did you always stay in the cabin?"

I shake my head yes.

He then looks to Jason and they seem to be staring off into space.

I poke him and look at him, confused.

"Its okay, baby. I was just talking to Jason." He tells me.

I nodded my head and Jason does something which causes the truck to move. I hold on to Xavier's hand and he says "It's okay. There's nothing to be afraid off."

I nodded my head ok and hold onto his hand very tightly until I fall asleep.

8 Hours later....

"Sapphire, wake up." I hear a deep voice say in my ear and open my eyes. I look up and realize that we are still in the car and laying down.

"I took a nap as well. Even though someone was supposed to keep me awake." He says, while looking at Jason.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He says, putting his hands up.

A giggle escapes past my lips but I quickly clamp my hands over my mouth.

"Its okay. You can laugh." Xavier tells me.

I smile and just giggle again.

A smile spreads across his face. Just then, my stomach rumbles- loudly.

"This is why I woke you up. I knew you would be hungry." Xavier says.

"Come on." He says and I get out the car to see that we are in front of a- I don't know the word; I can't pronounce it.

I tap Xavier and point at the sign.

"Oh, it's McDonald's. It's a fast food place. I normally don't eat here but the food will fill us up until we get home." He tells me.

We walk inside and I just sit there and try to read as many words as I can on the board but some words don't make sense like Big Mac or Frappe. I'm gonna have to ask Xavier what those words mean.

After some time passes, the food is given to us and we walk back out the door and into the car.

"Here you go." He says, handing me something. I look on the wrapper and it has a word on it.

I saw this word on the TV screen one time. I've always thought of eating one. I squeal, excited and unwrap it before stuffing my face. I look at Xavier to see him smiling at me but I quickly look away- embarrassed. He laughs which causes me to smile as I continue to eat the cheeseburger.
