Alfred let out a yawn as he exited the mansion library. He had been reading once again and lost track of time. By the time he finished reading, the sun had disappeared and the stars were out. He hurried down the hall to reach his favorite place in the whole mansion but was suddenly stopped when almost crashing into a certain emerald eyed pirate.
"What the bloody hell are you running for?!" Arthur growled as he angrily looked up at the blue eyed blonde. Alfred looked down at him in slight confusion before smiling.
"Like sorry about that Arthur. I was just so excited. I wasn't watching where I was going," Alfred let out a laugh before leaning down, his face very close to the Brit's. "Hey, I want to show you something."
Arthur's face grew hot due to the very little space between his own face and Alfred's. "Show m-me what exactly..?" the pirate asked. Alfred pulled away and stood up, extending his hand to Arthur. The Englishman took a hold of his hand before being abruptly pulled up.
"You'll see! Come on!" Alfred didn't let go of Arthur's hand as he guided the Brit as gently and quickly as possible to a door that contained a stairwell up. "Careful, these steps can be a bit wobbly at times," Alfred warned. Arthur gave a small nod before allowing himself to be guiding up the stairs. If a stepped wobbled he'd murmur a few curses under his breathe and Alfred would let out a chuckle.
Soon they reached the top, a small room and a balcony containing various books, papers, rulers, pencils, etc.. Arthur looked around at the mess with a dissatisfied expression before his eyes landed upon a telescope sitting out on the balcony. Alfred pulled Arthur over to the balcony before releasing his hand and looking through the telescope, making a few adjustments.
"What is this place?" Arthur finally spoke. Alfred glanced at him and smiled.
"My secret base!" Alfred said happily, sporting a smile.
"Well since I know about it, it's not much of a secret is it now?" Arthur pointed out, giving a small smirk. Alfred blinked in confusion for a moment before puffing his cheeks.
"Well whatever... As long as you don't tell anyone, it's still a secret," Alfred pointed out.
"I suppose... Alright, I promise to keep this place a secret," Arthur let out a small sigh.
"Thanks!" The blue eyed blonde said before looking through the telescope again.
"So... what do you do up here?" The pirate asked.
"Astronomy."
"Funny, I never really saw you as someone who was interested in such a thing."
"Yea, not many do, but once they get to know me, they'll figure it out," Alfred looked away and smiled at Arthur. "Want to take a look?" Arthur blinked in surprise before giving a small nod. Alfred grabbed a hold of the Brit's hand and gently pulled him over to the telescope, Arthur blushing slightly by the action.
He looked through the telescope and blinked in wonder. He had looked up at the sky many times before but never through a telescope of this size and there was quite the difference.
"Cool, huh?" Alfred asked, standing closely behind Arthur as the he looked through the telescope.
"Quite..." Arthur mumbled as he continued to view the sky.
Suddenly Arthur's sight darkened and a strong gust of cold wind erupted, causing the telescope to wobble and their clothes to flutter. Alfred wrapped his arms around Alfred and shielded him from the cold wind as they both shut their eyes. Once opening their eyes, in the middle of the room was a rock and a piece of paper tied onto it.
Arthur pulled away from Alfred's embrace and approached the object. He knelt down and read what was written: "We will be waiting for you by the port at the east end tomorrow at midnight. We would like to properly introduce ourselves."
"Heh... It seems they finally decided to reveal themselves," Arthur picked up the rock and took out his dagger, cutting the rope off before placing the dagger back into his coat.
"That was a surprising invitation," Alfred let out a small chuckle.
