gravity

they say

when you hit rock bottom

the only way to go is up

there's no way

like the war at bay

to merely sit, or just stand up

why we can't go up

we're just shattered teacups

our contents poured out,

still gravity holds us down

into the town

of screams

no sunbeams

no smiles

all the while

we've hit rock bottom

but we can't go up

it's autumn

leaves fall from the trees

while they shot him

he fell to the ground

and they ask, "how"?

how exactly?

their words were gravity,

pulling him down

back to the town

but he got up

somehow.

they say

when you hit rock bottom

the only way to go is up

only if you have luck

only if you have wings

only if you are the king

only if you set them free

the words that pulled you down

that made you go back to that town

but you'll let it be

and those words won't keep you on the ground

anymore

it's winter

it's cold

snowflakes are gold

they shatter,

they melt,

and they are really hard to hold

they disappear within seconds,

or if they survive,

 to join a pile

but all the while

they hit rock bottom,

but they can't go up.
