It has been a week since I found the letter on the bus and it has been a week since I've gone to the beach to watch the sunset. I miss how those beautiful colors reflect on the ocean like a mirror at the end of the day, I miss sitting on the sand while listening to music or reading a book, I miss how relaxed I felt whenever my hand touched the sand. But I've been busy with work. Since it was the beginning of summer parents usually work for a couple more hours and since I can't close the doors and leave I have to stay until someone comes to get their kids, so when I leave the sun is already down or almost down so it becomes too late for me to go to the beach because by the time I reach it the sun would have disappeared.
I still think about that letter. I just got so curious, it's stupid of me to think about it so much since there's nothing I can do about it. And even if there was I wouldn't do it anyway. I just... I just keep thinking 'what if' you know. If I had the courage to do something about it what would I do? What if the next time I get in that bus, he's there? I know I wouldn't know it was him but I guess the driver would say something, wouldn't he?
God, I should really get over it.
'Kay, my mommy is here!! Open the door!' the little blonde girl said excited pulling at my shorts. I got out of my trance and looked down at her smiling, realizing that the bell has been ringing. 'Come on, Kay! I have to go to see Zootopia.' she said pushing me towards the door. I laughed and opened the door. Her beautiful mother stood there in her professional suit looking down at her phone while talking to someone on the little thing that was on her ear but as soon as she saw the little girl that was behind my leg - because I have told her million times that she can't run out as soon as I open the door, I guess she finally listened - she smiled big and immediately said her goodbye to whoever she was talking to and crouched down so the little girl could hug her. 'I missed you, mommy!' I smiled listening.
'I missed you too, princess! Are you ready to go to the movies?' she asked letting little Mia go so she could look at her beautiful blue eyes. She nodded enthusiastic. 'Have you decided what movie we are watching?'
'Yes! Mommy, I want to see Zootopia, can we? Please.' Her mother laughed at her cuteness and said yes kissing her on the cheek. She stood up again and smiled at me.
'I'm sorry I took so long. You know how it is, the boss goes on vacation physically but never really leaves his business. He's constantly calling to check everything, I'm going crazy.' She apologized and I smiled with appreciation.
'It's okay, I understand! I don't really mind, I never get bored here.' She chuckles.
'I don't doubt it, I can definitely see why.' She grabs Mia's hand and steps back. 'I'll see you next week.' I nodded.
'Bye, Mia' the little girl looks back and waves at me. 'Will you tell me everything about Zootopia on Monday?'
'Yes, yes, I will.' I smile and wave back. When she gets in the car she opens the window and puts her head out. 'Bye, Kay!! Don't miss me too much. I will be back before you know it.' She yells. I laughed.
'Okay, I'll be here.'
As soon as the car drives away I go inside and clean the kitchen. Tomorrow I'll stop by to clean the little cafeteria. Little kids really know how to get everything dirty.
When I finish everything I check to see if any window or door that leads to the outside is open and then I walk out locking the front door while checking the time. 7.42pm.
My best friend arrives and I immediately get inside of the car. She smiles at me like she has something to tell me like always. I roll my eyes waiting for her to start talking.
