Annabeth had been crying. She had spent the last 6 days crying her eyes out. Why had the fates been so cruel. Didn't Percy do enough? He'd saved the world endless times. After all that, he was still a naive, funny and modest person. At the thought of that, she burst into tears again.

Someone knocked on her door. Jason carefully opened the door a crack. He cleared his throat. "Annabeth," he said," we're at camp halfblood" Annabeth nodded. She had to speak to the campers about Percy.

She rolled off her bed, and dragged her fingers through her hair. Then, she stumbled to her feet. As she joined the others on the deck of the Argo II, she spotted the familiar coast that was Long Island. She felt a tiny bit comforted, but still. I wish Percy was here to see this. See us succeed and the camps united. "Hello? Annabeth?" Piper was waving her hand in front of Annabeth's face. "Sorry. I zoned out... Just thinking about... You know" Piper tried to smile, but it didn't work. "He won't want you to feel that way. Just try to concentrate on happy thoughts and memories for now. I know the memories will never fade, but someday, maybe the pain will fade away." "Thanks Piper."

As the set down in the strawberry fields, campers started to cheer. Annabeth spotted her siblings, Malcom, Derek and a little girl named Lisa that Annabeth met during the time Percy was missing. She was so sweet. Chiron galloped in front the crowd and waited until the ship had touched the grass. He shook each of their hands as they disembarked. "It is a pleasure to see you all safe and the quest succeeded.  But I must ask one question. Where is Percy Jackson?"

No one spoke.

Suddenly, her eyes stung, Annabeth began to cry. She was not proud of it. But nevertheless, she couldn't help herself as she sobbed and screamed in front of all the gathered campers. Hazel made a choking sound, and collapsed in Frank's arms. Piper was trying to comfort Annabeth but she was crying to, while Jason struggled to not let the tears fall. Leo leaned against the boat as tears, thought he tried to wipe them away, slid down his face. The dragon Festus gave a mournful "Creeeeeeek" and some oil dripped onto the grass.

Chiron sighed. "I feared this" he said to the crew. "Percy Jackson was one of my favorite students, but he is to loyal for his own good. Annabeth," his voice faltered, seeing her so broken hearted, " did Percy promise you anything before he... Died?" Annabeth tried to slow the sobs, but couldn't, " He-he said that he would p-protect me n-no mat-ter what. He swore it on the Styx. I told him not to." Chiron nodded gravely, " an oath to keep with a final breath." The crew broke into sobs again. "All hail the dead hero, Perseus Jackson, son of Poseidon."
