(Vanoss POV)
I had never thought that life without my best friend will be that difficult. That month witouth him ran so slowly. I tried to look at the small things, that would make to happy. Like my baby, for example.

"Evan? We need to go," shouted at me my girlfriend from downstairs.

I grabbed my jacket and went to her. We both went to hospital, to make sure everything is ok.
I held Sydney's hand and smiled at her, while she was lying on the table, and I saw the picture of our baby in the monitor.

"Is everything ok?" I asked her to be sure. Doctor smiled at us.

"Don't worry. Everything is perfect. I can tell you if it's boy or girl, if you want to know."

"No," I said firmly.

"Yes, please," replied Sydney. Doctor laughed and I looked at my girlfriend.

"I'll give you a time. Be back in a few minutes," Doctor mumbled and walked away.

"What do you mean, you want to know it? Let it be a surprise, babe," I said and helped her sit down.

"I want to know it. We need to buy new things for him, or her. And I don't want to buy boys clothes, and after that find out it's a girl."

"But we can buy that stuff later. You're only one month pregnant," I said calmly.

"One month? Evan do you know how much responsibility is to be father? You can't say, let's do it later. That's not, how it works." She rose her voice and I sighed.

"I get it, but still...let's wait one month at least. Please, Sydney." I held her hands and she sighed.

"But I want to know. We have to pick up the name."

"Ok what about... She can tell you, and it will be your secret." She looked at my eyes.

"You sure?" I smiled and smoothed her hair.

"Yeah, I'm sure."

We arrived at home and I didn't have time for fun or for my friends. I was renovating the kids room. I had no idea how hard that could be.

I went to sleep completely tired.

"I was thinking... how do you want to name our child?" she asked me, when we were in bed.

"Hm... let's say, it's gonna be a girl. Do you have any ideas?" I asked her and smoothed her hair.

"I looked up some names. Elena, Christina or Zoey." I smiled, after her sentence.

"All of them are really nice names. And for the boy?"

"Ryan, Eric or Evan... after you." I felt really flattered, but I had another idea in my mind.

"What about Jonathan?" I offered. Her eyes widened and she looked at me uncertain.

"Jonathan? Wasn't it your best friend?" I slowly pet her belly.

"He still is,"I mumbled and tried not to sound sadly. She put her hands onto my.

"I'm sorry about it," he whispered.

"About what?" I asked confused.

"I have a feeling that is my fault he left you. He doesn't like me, and I get it, because I hurt you, but now you and me are together and baby is coming..."

"I know, but he's not here. I told you."

"Shame. You need a best man." I sat down and looked at her with my racing heart.

"What?" She looked back and smiled.

"Our baby will need mother and father. I was thinking about marriage."

She can't be serious. Marriage? I can't marry her. We have baby together, yes, but what if she would left me again? I don't want to be divorced.

"Sweetheart, marriage is a bit far in our relationship." She frowned.

"You don't love me?"

Do I? I don't fucking now. I care about her, sure, but is that love?

"I do, but we don't have to be married to rise up our child. He, or she, will always has mom and dad."

"Evan... what are you afraid of? I love you, you love me, so what the problem? I want our baby to be in happy family."

"But you left me after a year without any explanation. How can I know you won't do it again?"

"Oh that's it? You don't trust me! Well then, go fuck yourself." She furiously left our room and I sighed.

I slowly walked downstairs. She was watching TV. I noticed her tears.

"Sydney," I whispered and hunkered to her level.

"Go away," she hissed in anger. I grab her hands into mine.

"Listen to me. I'm here for you and for the baby. I just don't feel ready to get marry. Let's say we're going to live together and we will see. Now... can we go to wedding tomorrow? Brock is waiting for us."

She smiled and kissed me.

"Of course."
