Dad's out of the hospital, but still on meds. At least he's home. <3 Oh and I already know the days don't line up with the dates, but just go with it. Melody and Rob aren't the only characters based off of real people. Becca is based off of Melody's best friend Hailey.-Cam

I have a reason to be nervous, yet I keep telling myself not to be. The day couldn't have gone by slower. When I got to the base, I went straight to my room. No one has checked on me so I just watch the hours tick by. Four, five, seven, nine, and I've lost track. I haven't moved from my bed in hours. How can I? The others don't know what they are. As soon as I change, I'll know there's and okami are dangerous what if I  heart one of them. What if- "Rob? Can I come in?" Amy.

I stand up and brush my clothes down. Trying to look presentable. "Come in." The door opens to reveal Amy, who looks even more beautiful every time I see her. Her hair's pulled back in a pony tail. I can't help smiling at her. She walks over and hugs me and I hug back immediately. When we pull back she's smiling. "How are you holding up?" She asks. "As well as you'd expect." She laughs which surprises me.

"Let me guess, for the last couple hours all you've done is lay on your bed staring at the ceiling worrying. Am I close?" I chuckle. She's always been able to do that with me and I don't have to say anything. "Spot on, but what time is it?" Her smile falters a little. "Eleven thirty. The others are waiting for us up stairs." 'Amelia, I love you more than anything. No matter what happens.'  I wanted to tell her, but all I could do was follow her silently up the stairs.

(Melody's PoV)

Rob and Amy walk up the stairs. Rob looking worried and nervous. Can't blame him. He walks over to us sitting on the couches. He looks at all of us and sighs, "I have some thing to tell you, something about okami." The entire group sits up and leans in, except Jack who looks nervous. Strange. "Once an okami changes, their senses are strong enough to smell what other hybrids will be, before they change." Mat literally falls off the couch in shook, James stands up and paces behind the couch he had just vacated, and the rest of us sit with blank expressions looking at each other except Jack who apparently knew this already.

"Well, at least some of us know what we are already." Will says standing up. He told us he's a kitsune so he isn't all that nervous I guess, but- did he say some of us? Who else knows? Rebecca stands shaking, which stops James pacing and mat from getting up. We all look at her, "I-I'm a kitsune too. I was too afraid to tell anyone." No. I stand up and walk to the desk pulling up our med- docs. Sure enough, I had missed the fox DNA on her document. I close the folder with a sigh. "Melody?" I turn around to see Jack standing behind me, the others watching me closely. "Melody, do you know what you are?" I have no idea. "I think I'm an okami, but I'm probably a neko."

"Oh. Um. You can't be an okami." Stop being difficult, Jack. "Why not?" He backs up and looks at the others, locking eyes with Rob. "I'm the other okami." But, that means- "I'm a neko." I whisper. Jack and Rob are staring each other down. I glance at the clock. Shite.

"Rob!" He looks at me and Jack turns around. "Rob, follow me. The rest of you stay here." Amy stands up. I can't argue if she comes. She's Rob's girlfriend after all. We race down the stairs to the med-bay with one minute to midnight.

"Selma, look the med-bay doors." At that exact moment my phone's alarm sounded midnight and Rob collapsed. Amy was at his side in seconds and we lifted him onto one of the beds. His body started shaking and he let out a whimper as his human ears shrank back into his head and his hair grew over the place they had been. "Amy we have to turn him onto his side and pull his shirt off or his tail is going to get caught." We turn him and pull off the grey t-shirt over his head. He let out another whimper as his wolf ears grew out of his hair, higher than his human ears were. This time his whimper didn't stop, but grew into a howl as his spine elongated into a tail and his teeth lengthened into fangs. All at once, Rob's body lay still and his breathing returned to normal.
