You Saved My Life

I was sitting on my couch home alone flipping through channels on my tv when my eyes met my mom's and dad's faces on the screen. What's going on? I left it on what seemed to be the news channel to see what they were on for. My parent's picture suddenly changed to a random women talking in front of my parent's now crashed car.

"Destiny and Harold James were killed in a major car accident not too long ago while being hit by a drunk driver. Destiny, Harlod and the drunk were being rushed to the hospital as soon as possible but unfortunatley the married couple were not able to make it after 20 minutes of being in the hospital. The drunk driver will be sent to county jail as soon as he has recovered." 

My heart sank and I felt the tears streaming in. This can't be happening! They can't be talking about my parents. No please God why is this happening? The lady continued speaking.

"Destiny and Harold's daughter Kate was also inside the car" I couldn't listen to this anymore but I knew I had to. I wanted to know what happened to my twin sister. My other half. My favorite person in the world. Nothing could seperate us and I hoped to God this crash didn't. I couldn't lose her. Not when I needed her the most. My sister was the only friend I had. The only person I could talk to. 

"She is now in the hospital and recovering." I let out a sigh of relief. "She will be st-" The lady continued but I shut off my tv before I could hear anymore. So many tears were still streaming down my face. I couldn't handle them anymore. I heard a knock at my door.  I didn't want to get up. I was hurt.. I felt like I had nothing or no one but something told me it was a good thing to get up.

I opened the door and saw a tall women maybe around her early 30's with blonde long hair. She looked so familiar but I couldn't quite point her out. She was wearing a beautiful blue fancy dress and it looked like she was somewhere important before she came and interupted my sobbing.

"Hi Kourtney. I'm Heather Styles. I'm, well, um, was your mother's best friend." She looked at me with sad eyes. It just made everything worse. It looked like she had been crying as well.

"Hi." Was all I could get out of my mouth.

"Honey, I will be taking you and Kate home with me to Cali in a few days. I know this is short notice and you have no idea who I am but when I rushed to the hospital to see your mother and father, I had about a few minutes till she... passed. She told me that she wanted you and Kate to stay with me." I looked at her with wide eyes. This all hit me like a ton of bricks but I knew I had to go. Me and Kate are only 16 and are not old enough to stay on our own. I didn't know if I could trust this lady but if it's what my mom wanted I'm sure she is a very nice person and is happy to accept me and my sister in her home. 

I nodded my head.

"You can start packing yours and your sister's stuff and she will be out of the hospital tomorrow morning. She is doing really well and if you'd like to see her we can go now and you can pack later." Heather said.

I agreed and I got into her beautiful red porsche. Please don't tell me she's one of the rich bitches who always gets what she wants and is completely rude. By the looks of her car she sure looked like one but who am I to be judging someone I just met. I adjusted myself in the seat and off we were to see my litte twin sister who was born just 8 minutes after I was.

This is my first story ever and I really hope you will stay to read the rest. I'm sorry if it's not the best because like I said, it's the first ever and I have a pretty good idea for this story but if you all have any good ones too, please feel free to tell me some. I'd love to use them. & tell me what you think..thanks :) Also, I read a story that was almost like this but I am going to make mine different of course.
