~Chapter 2.

We got to the hospital and walked in. I followed Heather and we finally came to a stop. Room 1052. Weird. That's the time my sister was born. 10:52 pm.

"I'll be in the waiting room hun." Heather smiled. You could tell it was a forced one.

I nodded. I hesitated to open the door but I did it anyway. To my surprise Kate was awake. Her face lit up when she saw me as did mine when I saw her.

"Kourt! You came!" Kate smiled.

"Of course! I'm so glad you're okay" I smiled back. Kate didn't look injured at all. Although I'm pretty sure she was under those hospital sheets.

"Come on Kourt, lay with me." I smiled at her and before I laid down next to her on the small hospital bed I have her a huge hug.

We talked about everything that was going on from the crash to us moving out until Heather said it was time for her to take me home. I walked in my house and locked the door behind me. I ran up to my room and started packing only my stuff. Eh, Kate would be home tomorrow... she could pack on her own. We even share clothes sometimes anyway.

I finished with a few things then took a long warm shower. I then relaxed on my bed just thinking about everything that was going on. Heather said it was fine to stay alone for the nights before leaving to California. I was glad. I needed to be a lone for a while. I couldn't believe me and Kate would be flying across the country with a complete stranger. I still couldn't believe my parents were dead. I wanted to believe they weren't. I wanted to wake up tomorrow morning and see my dad on the kitchen table reading the Sunday newspaper and drinking coffee while my mom makes breakfast. I wanted to believe that everything was just a dream. I quietly cried myself to sleep.

-------------------------

I woke up to the alarm on my phone blasting "Somebody to Love" by Justin Bieber. Yes, I'm a belieber. My sister on the other hand hates the kid. I turned off the alarm and laid in bed a while longer.

I finally got up brushed my teeth, ran a comb through my hair, and got dressed. I wore a cute grey sweater with blue jeans and purple vans. I heard a honk outside my house and knew it was Heather waiting for me to pick up Kate.

I ran down the stairs and locked the door behind me. I greeted Heather and sat in the passenger seat. The ride to the hospital was really quiet so I turned up the radio. The song "Someone Like You" by Adele was on. I loved this song so much. I sang my heart out to this song as it played.

The song came to and end and Heather said, "You know, you're a really good singer."

I smiled and said thanks even though I really knew it wasn't true. She was probably just trying to make me feel comfortable around her. We then finally reached the hospital.

Heather and I walked inside to see Kate already waiting for us at the front counter to check out. I ran to her and gave her the biggest hug ever and talked while we waited patiently until Heather was finished checking Kate out of the Hospital.

We all walked back to the car a few minutes later.

"I call dibbs!" Kate yelled while storming off to the most beautiful porsche that I still can't get used to.

"Not if I get there first!" I yelled back. We raced to the car and I eventually caught up to Kate and I beat her.

She was right behind me when she came to a stop and was out of breath. "Hey that isn't fair! I'm a hurt girl barley out of the hospital you know." Kate chuckled and gave me those puppy dog eyes that I couldn't just say no to.

"Fine." I let her have the front seat and smiled while adjusting myself in the back. I'm just glad my sister is okay.

After hours of more packing, Heather insisted we'd leave tomorrow morning.

---------------------

It was the day Me and Kate were going on a plane for the first time ever. I was pretty nervous but Kate was excited. She liked the thought of moving and getting away from our home but I didn't. I wanted to stay and go back in time and wish none of this happened.

Once again my alarm went off to Justin Bieber.

Kate whined, "Ugh, turn that crap off please."

"Hey, it woke you up though..." I smirked.

"But that's the worst thing ever to wake up to."

"Oh be quiet and get ready. We have a long day ahead of us." I said truthfully. We'd be flying from New York to California. No stops.

We got ready and finished just in time when we heard the honk outside.

"Ready sista?" I asked.

"I was born ready."
