Past Fixed for the present

Barry watched as the police and paramedics arrived to what was known to him for most of his life; the crime scene of his mother's death. But not anymore, right now it was just the scene of an attempted robbery and attempted murder by a maniac in a yellow costume.

He stopped the attempted on his mother's life, there was a rush of mixed feeling surrounding Barry
right now. Happiness, sadness and relief was just a small part of what he watch experiencing.

He stood behind the tree watching, the aftermath being cleaned up. Neighbours came out in their night wear to both show support and ease their curiosity. In the mist of everything he saw, his dad, his mom and a younger version of himself all snuggled up in the back of a ambulance van talking to a medic.

Barry could not have guessed what they were saying and he did not care. They were all alive and together and that's all he could have ever hoped for.

The scene slowly started to die down as soon as the police and medics left. Neighbours went home and the only things left was yellow tapes that repeat 'Do not cross' every few centimeters.

The next step right now was to go home, but first he would have to talk to his mother right before he went to the future. The red streak of light that followed Barry was the only thing that was visible as he made his way into the house and in the only room that the light was on, the kitchen.

" Don't be afraid " he said as he approached her.

Barry watched as his mother spun around quick as light. First she appear scared but when she realized that it was her savior she calmed down and place the knife that she had grabbed back on the counter.

"Now why would i be afraid of the man that saved my life" she spoke calmly.

"I don't know, it just that people freak out when they see a meta human for the the first time."

"Meta- Human ? "

"Yea that's what i am, so was that guy that tried to kill you "

"Why though, why did he tried to killed me and why did you save me " she said slowly approaching him and coming face to face.

"He tried to hurt you because of me and i had to safe you because it was the right thing to do"

"Well thank you, do you mind if i know who you are "

"Trust me that would only confuse things, the less you know the better" Barry said moving away from her before her fingers could touch his skin.

"Okay, will i meet you again."

"You already have"

"Where are you going to go now"

"Home, my present home" he said

With those words Barry ran, ran faster than he normal speed , fast enough to move to time and space. He was getting home to see what better life awaited him.
