We Are Ghouls (Kaneki Ken Fan-fic)

Chapter 8

"Hey, you, Kaneki! How long are gonna skip class, you jerk?!" Wait. Is that Hide. HIDE! It's really been a long time I haven't seen Hide. I turned around, looking forward to Hide. Hide shook me back and forth, while talking to me. "Put yourself in my shoes! When rabbits get lonely, they can die!"

"Hide, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." I apologized to Hide.

"And what's up with the eye patch? You styling it up?" Hide said. I wish I can tell him I have a kakugan. (Kakugan is the ghoul eye's) But, probably he could tell the CCG's.  "While you were gone, I was so bored that before I knew it, I'm sorry? Huh? When was it?"

"I'd joined the school festival planning committee... seems like this happened before once..."

Flashback

I was walking by myself. Lonely. Darkness. Scarin- Huh? I heard a voice, a familiar voice. "Hey, Kaneki! How long are you gonna stay home?! Do you know how hard it is for me when you stay home?!"

Return

"Hey, are you listening to me, Kaneki?" Hide said starting to shake me back and forth, again.

"Oh, sorry. What'd you say?" I said to Hide. I knew hide was going to be like, "Kaneki! Really?!"

Time Skip

"Anyhow, I've got to see that upperclassman with the sharp tongue to borrow some material from him. Care to join me?" Hide said grabbing his back neck.

"Mm-hmm." I mummed. Me and Hide were just walking I was behind him, so I had to follow him.

"Kaneki, are you eating right?" Hide asked. I didn't want to say the truth. But...

"Huh?" I said. I didn't really want to answer that question. I mean I remember last time.

"You're looking pale. You've gotta eat, or you'll ruin your health." Hide started walking without me. But, I can't eat, the food taste like slime.

"He's always been like that. Hide is sharp witted in some odd ways. He's overly aware of the sentiments of others, so instead, he pretends  not to notice anything, out of concern for me. If I were to stop being human, would we never be able to walk together again?"  I said in my mind.

Time Skip

"I've been wanting to introduce him to you, Kaneki." Hide said.

"Is this Mr. Nishio?" I asked Hide.

"Yeah." Hide said. Me and Hide were walking upstairs. Trying to find Mr. Nishio's door. "I don't know whether to describe him as toxic, or bad-mouthing, or just as someone I feel uneasy around..." We started walking to the halls. Geez! Mr. Nishio's door is so high! "This is it. Pardon the intrusion!" Hide opened the door, and what I saw was Mr. Nishio kissing this red hair and a red long sleeve shirt, with her tan jacket covering one side of her shoulder.

"Hide, at least knock." I said. The girl started screaming, she got out of the room running with embarresed

"Nagachika, can't you knock first?" Mr. Nishio asked Hide.

"Mr. Nishio, I'm sorry." Hide apologized to Mr. Nishio.

"Nothing pisses me off more than having my territory violated." Mr. Nishio spin his chair, so he could face us.

"Yeah... Oh, this is Kaneki, the good friend I mentioned before." Hide said introducing me to Mr. Nishio. I got freaked out. That's the person who almost killed me. Me and Mr. Nishio both looked at each other very concerned.

"You don't say. Nishio Nishiki, second year, School of Pharmacy." Nishiki got close to me then grabbed me from the back. "Good to meet you, Kaneki." Nishiki started finding Hide last year materials, also Hide. "You wanted last year's material?"

"Yes, I wanted to see the retail data." Hide said. "Oh, where did I put that?" Hide whispered.

Nishiki sat down on his chair and put his hand on his head. "Aw, it might be at home."

"You're serious?" Hide said. I knew Hide really needed that last year material. But, Nishiki left at home.

"Nagachika, why don't you come with me to grab it right now?" Nishiki said.

"You mean, to your house?" Hide asked. Hide was really nervous, he never got asked by anyone, to go with him into his house.

"Yeah."

"Hmm, well, okay." Hide said, crossing his arm as he was angry. Hide looked at me and said, "Kaneki, sorry, but I have to stop by Mr. Nishio's place, so head on out without me."

"Hide..." I said in my head . I was remembering what Nishiki did to me. I didn't want Hide to be alone, I don't want him to get hurt. "Um, is it okay if I go, too?" I said with a freaked out voice.

"Huh?" Hide said. "What's come over you?"

Nishiki turned his chair, facing his computer. "Yeah, that's okay."

"Huh?" Hide said.

"It's not like I'm planning on letting him in." Nishiki said.

"Oh, yeah, sure." Hide said in a worried tone.

Nishiki's phone started ringing. "Before we go, I have to smooth this over." Nishiki said.

"What's with you, all of a sudden?" Hide asked me.

"Nothing."

"Hmm. Nagachika..." Nishiki said walking away from the room.

"Hmm? What?" Hide said.

"How much did you see earlier?" Nishiki asked Hide. I was so scared. What happens if Nishiki does something to Hide. What HAPPENS if he eats him alive.

Time Skip

Nishiki and Hide and me were walking to Nishiki's house to find his last year materials. "Want one?" Nishiki asked us.

"Oh, how nice." Hide responded. Oh no, I don't want to see them eat. I'll get hungry. What am I going to do?

"Here!" Nishiki gave me a bag of food.

"Ugh, I feel nauseous." I said in my brain. I took the food. I didn't even take a bite of the food. I just kept looking at the food.

"Here!" Nishiki handed a bag of food to Hide.

"Thanks so much."

"Kaneki, are you in any clubs?" Nishiki asked me.

"Oh, I don't do that well around large groups." Nishiki walked to a shade place.

"Hmm. The exact opposite of Nagachika, huh?"

I was with a concerned face. "Can a ghoul eat something like this?"  I said in my head.

"Mm, what a superb taste." Nishiki said, eating his food.

"Nice and crispy, too, huh?" Hide said. "Huh? Kaneki, aren't you eating yours?"

"Later." I put the food in my bag. I didn't want to eat in front them and start throwing up.

Time Skip

We started walking, again. But as we were walking  we landed on a dark, dark place. It looked like it was a dark basement. We stopped and Nishiki looked at me with a serious face. He turned around and kicked Hide.
