Reality

She had dreams of her own

Thoughts she could feel

An imagination

That seemed so real

But she put them in a box

And locked it all away

She threw out the key

So they'd never see the light of day

Because she knew if they did

They'd be killed by reality

Reality would tell her

How things were supposed to be

That true love and happiness

Never really existed

And fairy tales and magic

Is just reality that got twisted

No one ever told her

That her dreams could change the world

No one ever encouraged

That bright little girl

And now that she's older

Her box of dreams and thoughts

Is hidden and forgotten

It just sits there and rots

Maybe if someone had told her

What her dreams could've done

Her dreams and reality

Might've become one
