Tricks and traps

Aira was sitting all alone at a park, scribbling stuffs on her notebook..

[Rei took a deep breath and faced Shi. "let's break up" after saying those words, Rei left and never came back.-END-]

She likes writing short tragic stories, only because she doesn't know how it feels to have a happy ending or even live a happy life. After closing her notebook, she noticed a figure standing infront of her. She looked up just to see a young man, wearing his pjs and have a messy hair. The guy was staring at her as if he was digging a hole in her face.

"do you need anything?" she asked

"i thought you'll never ask" he half-whispered that's why Aira heard him and it doesn't seems to bother him. "actually no. But I was watching you a while ago.." Aira backed off a bit because she found it weird that someone was watching her, and still the guy seems to not care. "..and I noticed that there were something behind your ear" the guy leaned down--making his shirt reveal his chest-- and snap something out from Aira's ear, it was a rose. "this is for you. Keep that as a present" the guy handed the rose to Aira. "oh..thanks." then the guy slowly turned to his back and walk away "wait!" Aira said as she stood up. The guy turned around "why?" they were like 2 meters away "can I atleast have your name?"

"ninomiya kazunari at your service" the guy bowed then continued walking.

After that scene, Aira realised what she had done. 'did I just yelled and asked for his name?' she thought to herself. "It's not so like me" she murmurs as she sat down the ground and leaned on the tree behind her.

She, once again, opened her notebook and wrote something on it.

[06.18 today I met someone. I don't think knowing someone would hurt right? Im feeling kinda lonely nowadays. Knowing that guy, named Ninomiya Kazunari, brighten up my day. Although I can't convey that feeling well, I know that it made me feel better. *sketch of Ninomiya Kazunari she drew*]

After writing those things,she placed the rose inside her notebook and closed it, then she immediately went back to the hospital.

It was a short walk since the park is located somewhere near the hospital and many patients go there, some with nurses, some alone just like Aira.

Aira saw Mari (her nurse) at the front desk, fixing something.

"Mari" she softly called out.

"oh.. Aira-chan, let's get you to your room and have you change okay?" she said flashing a kind smile at Aira.

As they were walking towards Aira's room..

"uhm.. Did my parents...?" Aira hesitantly asked.

"... N-- but your brother is waiting for you at your room"

"oww. Okay." atleast someone was there, she thought.

After 2 long weeks, Aira and Kei met.

"Mari you can leave now, I'll just call you later" Aira said. Then Mari left the room.

"how are you?" Kei asked his older sister.

"doing great. I guess" she said as she laid down her hospital bed. Kei and Aira are the same, they both have the same personality and they're close to each other. "this silence between us is comfortable. I miss you sis" Kei said bluntly.

"I miss you too, I just want to have a simple life you know." she was looking at the plain white coated ceiling. Life for her us really lonely and plain.

"tell me, what was the Aira back then?" she asked out of the blue.

"you're the same. It's just that you can remember things. But you're still the same and I'm glad you didn't change" a sad smile was visible on Kei's face.

"ohh.. This life is so hard..." Aira said half whispering. Then another set of comfortable silence between them.

"i guess you should go" Aira said "it's not that I don't want you to be here. It's getting a bit late and maybe mom and dad are worrying about you" she continued. "i guess so. See you and take care of yourself always" he said as he waved goodbye "i will. Bye" he then left the room.

Aira took a short shower than fixed herself. She is now wearing her pj as she went out to look for Mari.

She spotted Mari near the nursery, watching some kids.

"Mari" she called out whispering. Loud enough for Mari to hear.

"yes?" she said as she was on her way towards Aira

"i wanted to talk" she said.

"sure. I'll go to your room in a minute. I'll just fix things here"

Mari saw Aira staring outside the window.

"Aira-chan."

Aira turned to face her. She was in her indian sitting position on her bed and tapped the space beside her for Mari to sit in. Mari was Aira's nurse from the beginning, eventhough Aira doesn't remember Mari every time she woke, she feels that she is somehow connected to her.

"Mari, I met someone today. Is this the first time?"

Mari paused for a moment, "Im not quite sure. Didn't you read your notebooks?"

"only a little part of it.."

"ahh.. Did you wrote

down all the things that happend today?"

"yup. I even made a new story. It's short though."

"it's okay. Let me see"

Aira opened the cabinet beside her bed and took her notebook out. She handed it to Mari.

"wow Aira-chan, you've improved."

"i did?" somehow her face brighten up.

"yup. I so like it." Mari was smiling proudly for her.

"thank you Mari" she said.

Mari continue to read up unil the end with some questions in her mind.

"wait. Is this Ninomiya Kazunari, wearing pjs?"

"yup. You know him?"

"I was incharge to take care of him once. I heard he was admitted around the same year as yours."

"is he sick?"

"i don't know. Cause he seemed normal to me."

"he looks mysterious to me, i-i want to know him more"

Mari was more than willing to help her get to know that guy more. "I'll help you" it also pains Mari seeing Aira lonely. Maybe someone can bring her slight happiness in her life.
