Will groaned as he opened his eyes, blinking several times in a vain attempt to dispell the drowsiness. He slowly willed his body to move and obey as he propped himself up on his elbows, gazing around the room he had woken in. It was white, and a bit cold. Most of his friends were there, save for Tristan and Julia. Alaina, noticing his movement out of the corner of her eye, looked up from her book and gasped. She shook Samantha awake, who proceeded to help do the same for the others.

"Willy!" Trinity squealed, standing up from her chair and carefully jumping over discarded coats and stray wires across the floor. She leaned over the bed railing and gently wrapped her arms around him, the others following suit.

"Where- I'm confused what's happening where am I-? Where are Julia and Tristan..?" Will asked, concerned for the well-being of two of his closest friends.

"They're- in another room. Tristan got injured and Julia is there with him. We were going to visit them soon if you didn't wake up..." Justin averted his gaze, visibly upset at the harm that had befallen Tristan.

"He- he's okay, right? They're both okay?" Will pressed.

"Yeah, they'll be alright! For now, just worry about yourself, 'kay?" Alaina, the ever-optimistic, replied as she beamed down at him. "Don't you worry yourself! For now, you needa focus on getting better!"

"Getting better... What do you-" and it was at this point when William noticed the tinted bandages wrapped around his left arm and a matching one on his thigh. "What happened..? Guys...?"

"You- your tent and the one Julia and Tristan shared- they were both in flames. You three are lucky you got out alright. It looked as if the wind had blown sparks from the coals in the fire pit onto a tree branch and then- well, it was essentially a chain reaction." Justin, once again, looked downcast. "But you three are okay, and that's all that matters," his somber expression turned upward into a sad, but relieved smile.

"Yeah, I'm glad we all made it out," Will agreed.

After a bit of everyday conversation and chit-chat, the gang left to go visit their other two injured comrades, and only as Justin was leaving did Will notice the bandages spiraling up his arms.
Despite the returning searing pain in his arm and leg, the room felt so much colder after they had left.
