Team Natsu was walking to the train station from their latest quest, Destroy a giant monster that has been terrorizing a local town for 50K jewel. It was harder than expected so in Team Natsu was Erza, Gray, Lucy, Natsu, Gajeel, Wendy, and Levy. The monster was some kind of mutated slug with the characteristics of a monkey, it was a pain in the butt but the team managed to pull it off, not without destroying a few homes at least and a 20K cut off their reward.
The team was passing through a small valley, it was barren and dry, but it was the fastest way to the nearest Train station, Hargeon Station. Lucy was walking with Erza and Wendy, Levy was talking to Gajeel about something while Gray and Natsu tossed insults back and forth. She looked over her shoulder multiple times, she felt the heat on her back and felt as if they weren't alone in this valley.
"Hey, Erza," Lucy said.
"Yes, Lucy?" Erza asked.
"Do you feel like we're being watched?" Lucy asked, looking over her shoulder and all around them cautiously.
"No," Erza said simply.
"It's probably nothing," Levy said with a sigh.
"If I've learnt anything over the years is that your instincts are always right, in their own way at least. I suggest we stop chatting and start walking. I got this chill up my spine and I need to get the heck outta this place for some decent quiet," Gajeel snorted, looking over his shoulder.
"What's wrong, Gajeel? You afraid of a wittle vawey?" Natsu mocked.
"No but I will be afraid to look at your face once my fist breaks it!" Gajeel shot back.
The group stopped walking and stayed put as Natsu and Gajeel got in a fight, dragging Gray in and duking it out in a three way. Didn't Gajeel say a second ago to keep moving? The onlookers thought with a sweat drop as the fight raged on.
"Alright, that's enough!" Erza shouted, walking over and grabbed Gajeel and Gray's heads in her left hand and grabbing Natsu by the right, she slammed them together and dropped them as she started wiping her hands. "Our ride leaves soon, so don't get left behind you three." Gray, Gajeel, and Natsu muttered something then stood up and brushed themselves off, glaring knives at each other.
They all started walking again, Gray was cursing something inaudible while Natsu and Gajeel kept budding heads with silent threats to each other, Levy was talking to Lucy as Erza and Wendy were walking in silence. The train station was almost in view, just a bit farther and then Wendy would use her troia spell to help the dragon slayers prepare for the train ride-
"AHHHGH!" Erza, Lucy, Gray, and Levy turned around to see that Dragon Slayers haunch over, writhing in agony. Natsu clenched his neck and shook violently, Gajeel gripped his shoulder and grunted quietly, Wendy was clutching her arm with the Fairy Tail emblam as she fell over in pain. The three of them each had a green dart right besides them, on the floor or besides the wounds.
"Natsu!" Lucy shouted as Natsu fell on the floor, clutching his neck with drool escaping his lips. "What happened to you?!" He didn't say anything, he kept shaking with his eyes wide.
"I dunno, we were walking when we heard a fwoosh and then bam! These little green darts were on us and making us feel like crap! What the heck are these things?!" Gajeel snarled through his pain, clutching his shoulder as Levy ran over to support him before he fell over.
Lucy helped Natsu up, wrapping his arm around her shoulder as she heaved him up to his feet. Gray scooped up Wendy bridal style as she whimpered in pain, and Levy tried helping Gajeel stand still. Erza stood away from them, she held the three darts in her hands, examining them quietly, taking in the black substace on the dart tips. She put them in a safe keep in her armor and turned to face the rest.
"These darts have some sorts of poison or something on their tips, if they got caught in your blood stream then seeing Porlyusca is a must. Come on, we need to go now," Erza said calmly. She walked over to Levy and helped the small girl carry the large dragon slayer. Gray and Erza began their march to the train station with the others, Natsu wasn't moving much so Lucy had to stay back a bit to help him.
"How do you feel?" Lucy asked.
"I dunno... the pain's fading but I... It felt like I was being electrocuted by Laxus's lightning from the inside out, ya know? Who ever had the wise idea to stop us is gonna get a serious beating..." Natsu mumbled, grimacing.
"Guild now revenge later, we need to know what type of poison was on those darts," Lucy said calmly, then added playfully. "Maybe then we come back here and break some bones after!"
"Whatever it was, I don't think it's poison..." Natsu murmured, quieter this time and seemingly unnerved by her invitation for revenge. Stressed, Lucy dragged Natsu over to everyone else just as the train pulled in.
