Swindler's swamp

Your P.O.V.

We had all just made it to the top of the staircase. You realized that Kurapika was still carrying you. "U-um K-Kurapika. Can you p-put me down now maybe?" You asked, a bit nervously. "Um, yeah, my apologies," he said to you. "Thanks," You spoke back.

"Is this the end of the first phase?" asked Gon. "No, not yet." said Satotz. Satotz was the examiner for the first phase. "Oh" said Gon. "We will be going into this marsh you see behind me. It is also known as swindlers swamp because of the predators that live in it, often tricking their prey." Satotz said.

  Then a person came out holding a monkey-looking thing saying that he was the real examiner. The monkey looked exactly like Satotz, especially in the face. He said that this is an ape that tricks people into following them into the marsh since their arms are very frail but they love the taste of human flesh. Then the clown guy, heard his name was Hisoka, threw six cards, three going for Satotz and three going for the other guy. Satotz caught the cards, but the other guy was killed. Hisoka said smirking, "The Hunter's Association only gets the best hunters to be examiners, only a Hunter could stop the cards."

TIME SKIP

  We were headed into swindlers swamp. I was with Gon and Killua. We could hear Satotz's voice, so you thought you were still behind him. But Killua had yelled, "Stop!". So I did and thank goodness I listened to him or I would have been impaled. There was a bird who could apparently copy other people's voices and it was trying to lead us off of a cliff, which had spikes at the bottom.

  You had gotten separated from Gon and Killua. So you were just running by yourself being very aware of your surroundings. But apparently not enough to notice a person in in front of you. I ran into them and fell back. The person I ran into grabbed my hand right before I hit the ground. Of course it was Kurapika. It's always Kurapika. Your cheeks turned a deep shade of pink. He lifted you up and let go of your hand. "Oh my gosh, Kurapika. I'm so sorry for running into you." You apologized to him, a little flustered. "It's okay. Are you alright?" He asked me. Leorio was with him. " Y-yeah, fine," You responded. "Can I just walk with you guys?" you asked Leorio and Kurapika. "Fine by me." said Leorio. "Sure." Kurapika agreed. We were running when we came by an opening from the trees and saw Hisoka and about twelve other guys. They were talking but I couldn't quite hear them, but apparently it made Hisoka mad because he killed all the men with one card. Kind of impressive, if I'm honest. He noticed us and turned to face us. Kurapika commanded, "When I say to, we need to run in two different directions." "Okay." Leorio and I said in agreement. Kurapika said "Go!!" Kurapika and I ran in one direction while Leorio ran in the other.

Leorio's P.O.V.

Kurapika and Y/N ran in the opposite direction of me, but I went back to Hisoka. I said, "I'm not gonna run like a coward." I put up my best fight but I blacked out.

Gon's P.O.V.

I came running and I found Leorio knocked out on the ground in front of Hisoka. I fought him for a little while but I lost and got pretty beat up. "I can't kill you, at least not yet." Hisoka said, licking his lips. He was kind of scary. He picked up Leorio and said. "I trust that you can find your way back." Then he left carrying Leorio. Then, Kurapika and Y/N came running up.

Your P.O.V.

Kurapika and I ran back to the open area. When we got there we saw Gon, he was beaten up pretty bad. "GON, are you okay?!?" You shouted in a worried manner. "Yeah, I'm fine." he responded,
calming me down. "Well we still have to get to the second phase."Kurapika reminded us. " I can smell it out." said Gon. "How?" You asked him, raising your eyebrow. "Leorio has a unique cologne. So I can smell it easily." Gon said, beaming a smile at us.

We had followed Gon all the way to a really tall gate. We had made it to the second phase. "Where have you guys been?" asked Killua. "We got caught up with something, but we're here now." Gon responded to his newfound friend.

I was beyond happy that we finally finished the first phase, but I knew that worse was probably on its way .
