At the horse range, Jasmine saw dozens of horses lining up to be chosen: from fouls to adults, mares to stallions, from. all different colours and sizes.
Jasmine walked around the range admiring the horses. Walk, walk... and there she saw her destined horse which would be her very first horse. It was a big, black thoroughbred stallion with shining and smooth long mane. It was standing tall and prideful, making others think it would be the leader of the herd.
Jasmine stood there in awe, looking at the magnificent horse. Just as she was looking, the range owner Racham came over and said:
『Do you like this horse? This one's name is Gustave which meant majestic, suitable for it don't you think? But this horse is wild and cannot be tamed. I don't recommend this as your first horse. But if it's you, Jasmine, I'm sure it will listen to you as all animals would do.』
Jasmine became excited and asked:
『Really? I can have this horse??!! Then, I'll rename it. 'Gustave' does not suit it even if the meaning does. Shachor. It's name shall be 'Shachor'. Nice to meet you, Shachor.』
The horse snorted at Jasmine and turned away. Jasmine and Racham giggled away at the sight of the reaction.
Jasmine then said:
『Mr Racham, I'll then bring Shachor with me now. Thanks for all your help.』
With that, she took Shachor's bridle and lead rope walked back home into the garden. She put her horse separately from her parents' and prepared the horse for her first riding pratice which is going to be taught by her mother.
After Jasmine finished preparing, her mother came with Jasmine's riding clothes to change to officially start her training. She learnt how to trot, cater, gallop, jump and so on. As she was a fast learner, her mother finished all her lessons within a week. Since then, Jasmine had always went for a ride with Shachor out of the village but still at sight.
A few months had past since she got her horse. One day, her mother asked her to go to a town nearby for an errand.
Jasmine obeyed and prepare the things she need for her first journey out of the village. Then, rode out of the village on Shachor
But Jasmine does not know that something terrible fate of the village nor know of her fate which was given to her. Will she be able to fight against her fate and what is the fate given to her and the village? We shall find out in the next chapter.
