I got up the next morning, ready for a fight. I had my routes out of the house in case of complications. There was a .357 revolver tucked in my waistband, my fire powers, and I had called in a favor from a friend. He is an expert marksman posted on a roof with a sniper rifle. I tested my hidden earpiece and it seemed to work. I walked up to their door and knocked, ready to have a dagger pressed to my body.
Ena answered the door. "C'mere, ya. He's over at the table but you're friend is elsewhere. Good luck negotiatin'. It won't go well for ya, sure as flies on shite."
I sat across from Nikolas.
"First off, we didn't do anything bad enough to constitute what you've done"
"You may not have but your group has. They killed Trotsky. If your group 'adn't've killed him, Russia would be a much better country."
"But I wasn't on that case and the ones that were are dead."
"But it was your group that killed 'im."
"Motya! Get out of there now! Secret police are getting ready to break in!"
"Shit."
"Who the 'ell are you talking to?"
"That doesn't matter because the secret police are going top break in."
I quickly stood and summoned a ball of fire in one hand and pointed the revolver at the door.
"If you want to help protect your home, stand with me, else you'll be thrown in a trench and shot after."
Before Nikolas could respond, the KGB burst through the door and I started shooting into the cluster of soldiers. I don't know how many I hit but it didn't matter since I set all of them on fire to end them before disappearing in a torrent of fire and reappearing at the back of the room.
"Now, you have to get out of here. At least out of this house or else they'll come back with greater force. There's no stopping it if they return."
"Christ on a bike. What is happenin'? This is chaos."
"This is nothing, Ena This is order."
"Motya, we have just received word from the grandmaster. That family is no longer under suspicion. Abort all infiltration."
"Got it. Alfredsons, you are no longer under our suspicion but you are fugitives under Stalin. If you want to live, you'll have to flee the country or you'll have to come under our protection because they will be back with greater force."
"You're the one that fucking did this. I ought to kill you and your friend but my kids are here."
"You'd either be dead by now or be worse off if it wasn't for me."
"It still doesn't give ya an excuse for anythin' ya have done to us."
"That was bad intel. I've said it before. Do you choose to live or die?"
Nikolas and Ena looked to each other having a silent discussion. Nikolas looked back before responding.
"You've given us no choice, Petrov. We will go with you only as a last resort."
"Free my partner or I'm not taking you anywhere."
"Ena, get the Russian."
Ena disappeared and came back a few moments later with Sokolov with a burlap sac over his head. I took off the burlap sac and he saw the charred bodies.
"I thought we weren't going to let this wind up like Berlin, Motya."
"I had no choice. The police attacked us. Now we have to get these to a safe house before they return."
"Why on Earth would you do that? No offense to you guys"
He was immediately punched in his face by Nikolas's shadow being.
"None taken, prick."
"How about we don't try to kill each other and your family lives?"
I managed to diffuse the rising tensions and we drove to the safe house for emergency usage. It was only about 1 kilometer away from our headquarters. It's intended for a backup headquarters in the event of the destruction of ours and was to be used in an emergency and this constitutes as an emergency.
"Alfredsons, I know that this'll take some getting used to and we'll do anything within reason to help you."
"Right, ya have done enough to help us if ya can call this help."
"I'm not going to argue with any of you. If you have any problems, leave them in the suggestion box in our grandmaster's home."
