I look around to see blazing fire and blood stained cement. I wonder. What have I done?

2 Weeks Earlier...

I get up and grab a muffin out of the basket the Bureau provided, and start walking towards the conference room. I am now officially a member of the security team, and we have a big meeting this morning. I still hate the Bureau for killing my parents, and creating the Erudite attack simulation serum for Jeanine to use. They also kept us in a fake city (apparently it's called Chicago), as an experiment to find out which of us are GP's (Genetically Pure) and which are GD's (Genetically Damaged). GP's were also called 'Divergents'. Turns out my mom was the 'purest'. She was a Divergent, and so I was too. I thought Tobias was too, since he was aware of his actions or 'awake' during simulations, like all Divergents are, but after we saw the results of his genetic welfare test, we found out that he was only aware due to a genetic transmitter device he got from his Divergent dad, Marcus. Tobias was never Divergent.

Anyways, as I walk into the conference room, Amar (Tobias' 'dead' initiation instructor), and George (Tori's [the former leader of Dauntless, who is now dead] 'dead' brother [apparently killed by Jeanine, who was the leader of Erudite, before she died]), the leaders of the security team, and some other members of the team, wait for me. "Alright, since everyone is here, let's start the meeting." Amar says. George beckons me over to a lone computer everyone is surrounding. I wonder what everyone's looking at. "We have received some news on Chicago." Amar sounds hurt. I give him a confused look. When I look back at the computer, I realize what everyone's looking at. They're looking at pictures of my former home, Chicago, playing in a slideshow.

But the pictures aren't anywhere near looking like how Chicago did when we escaped from it. From Evelyn and her factionless lackeys, from Marcus, from my parents' dead bodies. From all the nightmare me and Tobias were living through. Tobias. The pictures on the computer show dead bodies all over, and it shows a group of people I've never seen before. And they're holding guns.

It's a group of men and women, who look like they're in their 20's. Except for one person, he is wearing a black helmet, like the others, but I still feel like I've seen him before. There's just something about him. And the group definitely doesn't come from Chicago, because they're wearing bulletproof jackets, and helmets, which are only available in the Bureau, or to the group of GD's that bombed a section in the bureau, and fled to the fringe, with all the weapons and armour they could grab. The group had lied to convince Tobias to flee with them. The group that took my only family away, never to return. I had warned him, but he was so hurt after learning that he wasn't perfect, pure, but instead 'damaged'. He was so hurt that he believed Nita (the leader of the rebel group), and fled, away from me, the girl who he claimed he 'loved', the girl who's love stopped him from committing suicide. I don't think I'll ever forgive him for that. "The group of people you see here," he stops the slideshow on the picture I was just looking at. "Shows the same group of people who attacked the bureau, but along with them are some people that are unrecognized." So my suspicions were right. And those unrecognizable people are terrorists. Just then I realize what was familiar about that person I saw. Those muscles, that stance. That person was Tobias.
