Chapter 45

Zoe's P.O.V:

It was all frosty outside this morning. I felt the cold air freezing the inside of my nose.

I put my scarf over my nose.

5 days until I had to be out of the house. I still hadn't understood my mum was actually dead. She was gone, but it didn't feel like it. She was always gone anyways so it made no difference.

It hurt to think like that but it was the truth, she never really cared about me.

But what was I going to do now? Move to my grandma? No, I didn't want to end like this, I didn't want to give up. One year until I could take care of myself. One year too much.

I didn't want to leave Niall for a second. I wanted to know that I could go to him whenever I needed to, that he was there for me, like the boyfriend I always wanted. He was the perfect boyfriend. Sure there were some up and downs but nothing was perfect, right?

I wanted to figure out a way to stay in NY with him but the only thing I could make up was moving in with him and his family, but that would never work.

I didn't want to find my dad but I was still interested of how he was and if he still cared about me. I didn't think so though, if he did he would've at least called, right?

I sighed and looked down at my phone. I saw that Luke from 5sos had tweeted but my hands were freezing so I decided to check it later.

I put my hands in my pockets and looked down to the ground while I was walking towards the school. I spotted a pair of shoes and looked up quickly.

"Hi!" Danielle exclaimed.

"Hi!" I smiled big. Was I dreaming? Did I really.. Have a friend?

"What subject do you have now?" She asked as we entered the school.

"English I think" I shrugged and couldn't avoid smiling bigger than I should.

"Why are you smiling?" She raised her eyebrows and looked behind her to see if anyone else was there.

"I don't know, I just haven't had a friend, like.. Ever" I bit my lip and she looked worriedly at me.

"What?" She looked surprised.

"Yeah.." I opened my locker and put in my bag and took out my stuff. "See you later?" I smiled and closed the locker.

"Yeah.." She nodded slowly looking thoughtful. She smiled at me before I ran to my class.

Harry's P.O.V:

"Hey there" Louis put his arm around my neck and laughed.

"Hi" I smiled at how ridiculous he looked.

"How are you?" He let go of me and became serious all sudden.

"Good" I shrugged.

"No but seriously, is it better?" He looked me straight in the eyes.

"Yeah it's good, actually" I smiled and nodded.

"Good, you know I'm always here, right?" He ruffled my hair.

"Mhm" I nodded. "Bye" I said and turned by the corner in the corridor.

"Bye!" He shouted and ran off.

Niall's P.O.V:

"You have no idea what I've found!" I exclaimed as soon as Zoe quit the classroom.

"What?" She looked at me confusedly and hugged her new friend good bye.

"Who's that?" I smiled and looked after the girl she just hugged.

"Danielle!" She exclaimed. "My new friend" I could see how she lighted up when she said 'friend'.

"Awesome" I hugged her quickly. "Wanna know what I've found?"

"Yeah?" She smiled and I dragged her with me to her locker.

"I've found information about your dad" I said and waited for her reaction.

"What" she said quiet. If couldn't tell if she was happy, sad or angry.

"He just d-" I started but she put her hand over my mouth.

"Why did you search about him Niall?!" She ran her hand through her long hair.

I took her hand off of my mouth and took a grip of her other hand too.

"Here's the best part" I started.

"I don't want to know." She said and looked away.

"I swear you'll like it!!" I exclaimed.

She didn't reply so I just thought for a minute if I should say it or not, I couldn't not say it so I decided to say it.

"Zoe, he lives in Hartford!!" I almost screamed. She turned her head to me quickly.

"What?!" She exclaimed and started jumping around. I let go off her hands so she could do whatever she wanted. She jumped on me and hugged me tight.

"That's not far from here!" She buried her face in my neck.

"I said you'd like it" I laughed.

"I'm still mad at you for searching up information about my dad without telling me" she took a few steps back and crossed her arms glaring at me.

I just laughed and shook my head, then hugged her tightly.

When the school finished I waited for Zoe to finish her last class. When she finally came out I got to meet Danielle. She was really pretty, and really kind.

We invited her to join us to go grab something to drink but she had to rush to her dance practice.

"I don't understand!" Zoe exclaimed. "I thought he lived in England"

"Yeah, me too, from what you told me" I said.

"When did he move here?" She asked and we entered one small coffee shop.

"Last year" I replied.

She just stared at me for a few seconds.

"There's something you need to know.." I swallowed.

"What?" She looked at me nervously.

"He's married to a new woman"

"I kind of understood he'd find another woman" she laughed nervously.

"And she has a child, and.." I bit my lower lip.

"What is it?!"

"Luke Hemmings is her son" I froze when her eyes widened.

"WHAT" she screamed and everybody in the little shop stared at her.

"Calm down!" I laughed and made her sit down again.
