Moving Too Fast

I am stuck in a world moving too fast

I wonder what happened to cardboard boxes and toys

I hear the sound of children's laughter

I see pictures on the fridge, crayons spread on the floor

I wish I could turn back the clock

I am stuck in a world moving too fast

I pretend I can slow the days if I try

I feel terrified knowing even today will be just another memory

I touch the pictures, the drawings on the walls as

I worry about where my life will lead me

I ask myself, surely others feel the same but

I am stuck in a world moving too fast

I pray those days will never be forgotten and

I believe I do not have to say goodbye

I dream of tag and hide and seek, soccer in the street

I trust in the chapter as the next page is turned

I hope the days will slow down their pace

I am stuck in a world moving too fast

I touch the pictures, the drawings on the wall

I touch the pictures, dying to relieve the memories
