"Light pink, light purple, grey, or beige?" Lily asks me about the color of dress I want for my first face to face meeting with Prince Damon.
"Um..." I don't know what to say.
"Do you want one or two braids?" Julia asks from behind me.
"Two," I say.
"Annora, the dresses," Lily urges me.
"Right," I examine the dresses. "Pale pink."
"Good choice!" Lily sighs as she prepares the dress.
"What about white polish instead of nude?" Marcy asks from where she sits, holding my hand in hers.
"No, stick with the nude polish so it can match her shoes," Julia says before I can get a syllable out. Marcy just nods and gets to work painting coats of nude polish onto my nails.
After my nails and hair are finished, Margaret helps me slip into my dress. It comes down to right below my knee. Its light pink color is so subtle and pretty. The snug fit of the top makes me feel comfortable while the flowing bottom makes me feel elegant. The long sleeves reach my wrist, covering my arms.
"Gold or silver jewelry?" Lily asks me.
"Gold," I smile.
"Good choice," she says again, pulling a small golden ring and matching necklace from a jewelry box. The thin chain of the necklace is then draped around my neck.
They put on my simple heels for me and then immediately start my makeup.
"Very subtle and natural makeup will be best for your first meeting with the prince," Marcy explains. "Show your natural features before you show your made up face."
Once my light layers of makeup have been applied, the girls explain to me how the morning will unfold.
"Each girl will head down to the coffee room to have a cup of coffee as they meet the prince one on one," they inform me. "You are scheduled at 9:20 so you'll be the fifth girl to go assuming they start right at 8 o'clock. Your session will be twenty minutes long so at 9:40 you can either come back here or wander the halls. You have a lot of freedom in the palace."
They all smile at me cheerfully. I thank them.
"I do have one question," I add. They all perk up, ready to answer. "When is breakfast?"
They all giggle. Marcy is the quickest to answer.
"Whenever you feel like it," she smiles. "Before or after your session but I suggest after. You can order it wherever you like or just head to the dining hall."
"Thank you very much, Marcy," I smile at her. "Thanks to all of you."
"It's eight now so the sessions will be starting. Remember to be ready at 9:15 so you aren't late," Margaret ushers the girls out of the room, leaving me in peace.
I have about an hour to do whatever I feel like. I'll eat breakfast after my session. I decide it would be a wise choice to get some morning fresh air before facing the prince alone.
Only stopping to ask directions twice, I make my way to the castle gardens. As I walk down the pathways of the gardens I admire the neatly trimmed bushes and trees. I can smell the flowers as I enter the immaculate flower gardens. I search for my favorite flower but there aren't any ponds in the garden. As I'm examining the plants, I see a man standing by a tree. I can't see his face but I assume it's a garden worker.
"Excuse me? Can you help me find the ponds?" I ask politely. "I'm looking for my---"
I stop mid sentence as the man turns around. It's Noah, the princes younger brother.
