Growing up, many would describe it as a scary thought to any teenage girl on the brink of adulthood... Not me. I believe that the world is all mine - to play with and concur. To do everything I ever dreamed. Currently it's the eve of my 18th birthday and I'm due to be released tomorrow. Released from where you may ask. Honestly I couldn't tell you. I've been in this place for as long as I can remember and I really don't know why. On the rare occurrence that someone enters my room, they remain silent and just stare at me for a few seconds, scribble something down and then walk out. Lately, the mysterious visits have been increasing to almost daily. The concern that floods onto their faces is becoming more and more apparent within each visit. Over my time in this obscure place I've learned to ignore it.

Today is different. I can sense it. Every nowand then tingles run through my body, putting a small smile on my face.Footsteps pound the floor leading to my room. 'They must be very heavy footed'I thought. A small giggle left my lips. Then they stopped. Everything fellsilent. I could feel a presence on the other side of my cold metal door.Suddenly, I felt threatened. Pushing myself to the far corner of my paddedroom, I hugged my knees. The light creak of my door seemed like a deafeningscream forcing me to slam my hands over my ears. Silence. The padding in mysmall room dipped underneath me as if a heavy foot had taken its first step. A fewmoments pass before I feel it dip again. Curiosity overwhelmed me and I pealopen my eyes. Stood only a few meters away, a pair of smart penitent blackshoes sit directly at my eye level. They looked expensive, very different tothe plain white coats that the silent visitors had worn. My eyes began to lift, scanning over every little detail. By the structure of the body I think it's aman. He is wearing tight black jeans and a black, short sleeved, dress shirtthat displayed is toned arms nicely. I started to feel a little shy, which isvery rare for me as many would describe me as a bold character. My eyes continued up studying his neck andchest. Then it hit me. His beautifully carved jaw, light cheek bones sculptinghis face perfectly and a pair of sparkling blue eyes fixated on my own. He wasgorgeous.

After I had studied every inch of his magnificent body, he broke the silence. "My name is Devon, sweetheart." The words rolled off his tongue like a perfect symphony. He smirked, knowing that the simplest of actions was having such a great effect on me. "Now are you going to tell me your name, because it's rather rude to just sit and stare, princess." Smirking, he knew being patronising was never my intention. Forcing myself to speak, "Ni-Ni-Niamh" I stuttered. It was incredibly obvious how nervous I was around this godly creature and I could tell, he loved it. "You're coming with me, okay, no need to worry" I furrowed my eyebrows "Wh-- what this must be a mistake. I'm turning eighteen tomorrow, a free women!" I begin to panic. No! He can't do this; he can't take my free spirited future from me. His milky pale hand reached out to me. I hesitated as the feeling of uncertainty and danger swept over me. Going against every nerve in my body I hesitantly reached out and took hold of his ice cold hand.
