Riley.

"Suspended? Both of you? Suspended. Woooow." My dad paced back and forth as he lectured on us something we've heard at least seven times before. It's been going on all day since we got out of school, but he decided to wait until night time to actually sit us down and talk to us.

"Daddy it was neither of our faults! We tr—"

"Reagan don't Daddy me! Riley where were you when she was fighting? You are always supposed to be aware of where the hell your sister is!" He threw his hands up in my face.

"Daddy I'm in twelfth, she's in ninth. I can't always watch over her!" I told him.

"You can't keep tabs on her? You two so damn lucky I'm not shipping your little asses up to Virginia to go stay with grandma. I can not believe this! YOU TWO BROKE MY TRUST! You were doing so damn good, and then this shit," My dad continued to rant, using more curse words in one breath than what he probably used all year. Daddy didn't curse often, especially at his "Little Sunshines", but if he did, then you know he's super pissed. "And to think I almost bought you a car for Christmas Riley."

I looked up at him slowly. "I mean you can still buy me a c—""

"Shut the hell up."

I shut the hell up.

He walked around in a circle and rubbed his hands over his face. "First semester is over in three weeks and you two are missing ten days! Not five, TEN!"

"The Dean already said that both of these incidents weren't our fault, we got touched first! We were basically just standing our ground, can't you go easy on us?" I asked in an attempt to cool his blood.

"You two act like you can't walk away from a fight. When you see trouble coming your way, go the other damn way! Matter of fact, this is how we're gonna do this. It's lockdown until you go back to school."

My dad's version of lockdown means stuck in the house basically doing nothing. Only thing he lets us keep is our phones. I sucked my teeth and leaned back on the couch.

"Sucking your teeth? One more day added." He told me. I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. It was like God took my sense of speech for a split second so I won't get my ass into more trouble. Reagan laughed at me and I looked at her disgustedly.

"Laughing? One more day for you too. This can go on all day. Reagan don't ask me to go nowhere with your friends, the answer is no. Riley don't ask me to go anywhere with India and Kylie or that nappy headed ass boy, the answer is no."

"Daddy he's not nappy headed." I defended.

"He's nappy headed if I say he is! You are so lucky I'm not taking phones up in this piece! Now both of you get out my face." My daddy told us as he proceeded up the stairs.

"Why did he tell us to get out of his face if he's the one who left?" Reagan rhetorically asked, making me laugh.

"I HEARD THAT! TWO MORE DAYS FOR BOTH OF YOU." Just then, daddy slammed his room door.

"Well," I stood up off the couch. "I'm about to go lay down and enjoy this ten day break. You coming in my room?"

Reagan rejected. "I'm going to sleep."

"Your ass always sleeping." We both started walking up the stairs and separated into our rooms. I sprawled out on my bed and wrapped myself in my covers. Right when we got home from school my dad started talking to us so I didn't have time to call Chris and tell him what's up. I went to my call log and pressed his name and waited for him to pick up.
