( KOO JUNHOE - POV - )

Rage, that's what I felt when I heard what Mr. Jihoon said. " Excuse me ? " I questioned.

"June, it's for her own good. Staying by her side won't heal her. " he squinted his eyes.

" I'm sorry but no. "

" What ? " he looked at me, straight.

" I'm not leaving her. Ever. " It might've seemed rude, but I had to say what I needed to.

He chuckled in disbelief. " You're getting much ruder as you grow up, June. This is an order from a loving father. You can't just push it away, you know. "

" A loving father or a president, I'm brave enough to face anyone. For the sake of not leaving her. " Straight up position, I spoke.

" Brave as you are, but it's useless. If I order Yoori to do something, she obeys. You can't do anything with that. Just stop, June. She's not going to remember you. "

" Is this what you're doing as a father? Ordering your daughter to not remember what happened in her life ? Scolding her for trying to remember her own past ? Are you calling yourself a father ? " I frowned my eyebrows, obviously not satisfied by the actions of a father towards an innocent daughter.

" Stop! I do what I do as her father, you have no business with our lives, now leave, June. Leave her, and get out of my sight. " He demanded.

"Sir, I'll get out of your sight but not hers. That's all I have to say. I'm sorry for being disrespectful but my love for her is not something you can throw around heartlessly." As soon as I spoke, I walked away.

While I was leaving, I could hear him groaning and hitting the wall out of anger. I felt uncomfortable with my attitude towards him, of course. But I'm not gonna give up. Not now.

" You brought something? Is that for me? " Yoori asked, peeking at the paper bag placed next to me.

" Yep, I brought some fruits. All yours. Peeled, sliced and all. " I picked up the item that was on the floor, and handed it over to her.

" Aw, gomawo! (thanks!) " She took off the lid of the tupperware and chuckled excitedly. It's nice seeing this side of her, it's been years since I got to see her angelic smiling face.

" Why aren't you like this at school ? " I rested my chin on my palm, looking at her eating.

" I jvust cawn't bving mysewv to ve like vis " She spoke, or did she ? Her mouth was full with the fruits I prepared and I couldn't help but laugh at her cuteness.

" Sorry, wh- " I stopped to continue my giggling. " What? " Smiling, I asked her properly.

She made a 'gosh-why-did-this-have-to-happen-' face and cleared her throat. Fruits all swallowed now. " I just can't bring myself to be like this at school. I don't even know why. " Yoori sighed and took another bite of the sliced green apple.

"You should be. You do know you look beautiful when you smile, don't you? " I examined her face, agreeing with myself that she does look like an angel.

Upon hearing that, she choked on the food and coughed. I was surprised and gave her a cup of water, telling her to drink it slowly.

Right after she calmed down, she laughed like a complete maniac. "What in the heavens are you even- " She continued laughing. " Hun, you need to get an eye check. How are you calling me beautiful when I look like a roasted potato salad ?"

" I don't need an eye check. " I shook my head. " I might need sunglasses tho. "

"And why's that ? " She tilted her head, putting on a questioning expression.

" You're shining too bright. " I smiled at my own words.

She was left speechless, holding the fork that has a grape at the tip in a freezed position, looking at me. "Why are you being like this to me? "

"Being like what? "

" All sweet. You visited me and even sliced some fruits before coming here just for me, and you're saying all these stuff that gives me butterflies and I hear words that no one's ever said to me before, all from you. What's with your sudden existence in my life ? I want to know who you are. You even know about my past and, somehow, it's like you're giving me an unsolved riddle, telling me to answer it. Who, are you ? "

I smiled. " I was your past, I'm in the present and I'll hopefully, soon, be your whole future. Time will go by and you'll eventually know who I am. You don't have to find out now. All you have to know is that, I've known you and I know you."

She frowned, giving me a puzzled look. " You're saying that I'll know you one day? "

"Were you a part of my past that I don't know of ? Do I have to do something to remember you ?"

"Woah woah, take it easy. I'm not trying to make this hard for you, I'm just saying that, without effort, you'll know me. So don't struggle yourself by trying to remember me. " I held her arms, telling her it's all okay.

"Do you know my dad, then ?" She sat properly, eager to know everything.

"Him, too. But don't mention me in front of Mr. Jihoon. He'll flip the damn table during dinner. Your ramen will be all over the place."

She giggled, " My dad must've... told you to stay away from me ? "

" How'd you know ? "

" I know how my dad is. He doesn't even want me to remember even the slightest bit of my past. That's our main topic during arguments, usually. "

I nodded along, listening. "Well, I'm not gonna listen to him, tho. Nothing's stopping me from seeing you. "

"Why do you want to see me anyway? I was probably just a friend."

"Believe it or not, we only have each other back then. I didn't have any friends, and so did you. Loners, we clung on to each other. "

"We.. did ?"

I only formed a smile on my face as a response. "So then, see you again ? Get well soon, rest comfortably. I sneaked in her in case your dad might come back soon. Bye " I bid goodbye and walked out of the area.

"Yeah, " I nodded to myself, " we're seeing each other again. " and smiled while thinking of the moments I spent throughout the time I knew him.
