Chapter Two
Joshua's P.O.V.
Being the only male wolf around is not as much fun as it is cracked up to be. I don't have many friends, my "manliness" is challenged all of the time by rouge males searching for females, and I certainly do NOT get all of the females near my location trailing after me. Quite the opposite, in fact. I have never had a very close bond with other people like me. Don't get me wrong, I am athletic and involved in so many sports in school that I cannot even count them, but as a wolf, I'm a loner. I don't want to be alone. I would much rather have someone to talk to. I love laughing and spending time with friends and family. It is so much better to have a pack...
Maybe someday I will find the right person. I know that to have a mate, one must first see the person they are looking for. I have never experienced finding "the one", but most people who have say it is the best feeling in the world. I hope that my mate is sweet, funny, and caring. I know she will be, I have a gut feeling about it. I will love her to the ends of the earth, always.
Today I'm walking to school, thinking about homework and my mate problem, when I run into something solid.
"Ouch!" it yells into my ear.
"Watch where you are walking," I growl back, barely audible. Apparently this strange person hears me, because he cocks his head to one side questionably.
"Did you just say something?" he asks.
"N...no..." I manage to get out. How did he hear me?! I thought no one could hear me when I growled that soft. This is weird.
"My name is Steven," the strange person says, "and I think you and I have a lot to talk about.
I gulp nervously. This guy is over six feet tall with broad shoulders and a stiff back. Geez, I am totally afraid now. I am barely five foot eight and have half the amount of muscles as this "Steven" does. Maybe it would not be a good idea to make this person angry.
I try to make myself as tall and threatening as I can. Who knows where this boy comes from? Maybe he is insane. Hyperventilating is not the best option right now. I think I just have to be cool and address the matter with a calm disposition
"What is it you want?" I manage to ask before my voice dips a little on the last word. This new boy smiles a little.
"I'm not going to hurt you ya know," he says back to me. "I just want to talk. Why is it that I can hear you? It didn't seem like you were shouting. In fact, I could have sworn that you were whispering. I...is something wrong with me?"
Finally I think I begin to understand.
"No, no, nothing is wrong with you. I think that you and I do have something to talk about actually. When was the last time that you have had a waffle?"
"A waffle?" he asks.
"Yes," I answer. "Let's go pick up some breakfast on the way to school and I will explain everything.
Okay so I have Joshua's point of view now! Some of my main characters are coming into place but there are still more to come! Keep watching out for more! Thanks!
