those cold autumn days

chapter 2

my mom started talking about something she did at work today as she grabbed the beans to put on her plate. my dad sat down with his water and told her how proud he was of her. "mom, can I go to Dan's house tomorrow?" my oldest brother Nate, who was 19 asked. "did you get all your work done?" he nodded. "alright Sam you doing anything?" my other brother who was 18 nodded. "yah I'm hanging with Katie." she was his girlfriend and she was perfect, she had no flaws in her face. "alright, be home by 9." he nodded and put his dinner plate in the sink. "Riley you have any plans?" I shook my head and took a sip of my water. "alright well your father and I are going into the city for a get together with the Foster's." their family was cool, kinda weird, but cool, and rich. Sam kissed my mom on the Cheek and went up the stairs, probably to his room or something. "Nate?" my dad said. and he looked up from his plate. "what time are you going to don's?" he swallowed his food. "like 3? i don't know." my dad nodded and took his and my mom's dishes into the sink. "well we are leaving at 9 tomorrow." I nodded and took my dishes into the sink as well walking into the hall and up the stairs to my room. I walked up the stairs and went to my closet and changed into warm fuzzy pajamas. my parents were getting ready for bed and my brothers were watching some pointless show. I grabbed a book from my bookshelf and started reading it on my bed. I pulled my brown, long hair up into a messy bun. I closed my book and turned on my music on my ihome singing along to my iPhone which was playing birdy. "hey!" I paused my music. "shut up I'm trying to sleep. I didn't notice it was 10 already. how long was I singing or reading. I turned off my light and hoped into bed and pulled my sheets and blankets over my body. I pulled my messy bun out of my hair and laid on my back staring at my ceiling. I breathed softly then turned on my back for sleep.
