About ten years ago, my family got a dog, and to celebrate, my mom bought pound cake for us to eat.
Being very young, I didn't know what pound cake was. I knew that we'd just got a dog, and some dogs went to pounds, so I thought "pound cake" was cake from the pound, and therefore cake for dogs, so I refused to eat any.
